2004 Banshee $7k invested - 1 owner $5000obo

By classifying all that as an argument might be giving it too much credit. Dave made several good point and expressed them in a logical anf grammaticaly correct fashion. 2bzy2p generated some verbal poo, in a disorganized, unfriendly, and generally unintelligent manner. I really don't have an opinion regarding the root issue of whether or not the originator of this thread was asking too much money or not. The proper thing to do if you really, really had a problem with it would be be to send the guy a PM saying, "hey I think you might have a better chance selling your bike at $_____ price or possibly listing it ___________." Of course that's just my opinion, I could be wrong. At the end of the day anything you sell is worth what you can get someone to pay for it. I think that may come from the concept of a free market economy. On the plus side, I got to talk to an engineering student that seems to be farily intelligent. This is something that seems to be getting harder and harder to find. If any one is keeping score, that makes two engineering students on here that are potentially more intelligent than many engineers that I have met that have been in industry for many years. By the way, I am an asshole, and I approve this message. -

I just saw that. That's awesome! -
I am non-affiliated at the moment. I voted for Clinton, I voted for Bush Jr., I voted for Kerry (mostly because I spent some time with his daughter). (read: I hate everyone equally)

Pro-X = cast Pro-x is the best cast piston to buy for a Banshee. View my opinion on cast pistons above.^^

That's a bunch of bs. I wish I could find whoever made that up and kick them in the nutz. There are far too many people (not just on this website) that believe that. To fend off the folks that are going to wind up trying to bash me for saying that based on the fact that they think it happened to them because someone told them so..........................I ask you to think before typing.....................think hard..............did to inspect the machine work that was done to your cylinder bores? Did you measure your pistons before installing them? If so, lets compare those two numbers along with the taper number from your bore and I bet we will find what really caused the problem you have been blaming on a forged piston (even if a builder told you so). :geek:

I am pretty sure I could pick up a rock, put it in a box, start talking to it, and I would find out that it is more intelligent than 2bzy2p. .............or atleast it would talk about cocks all the time. -

Actually, I am pretty sure that I am better than 2bzy2p............. -
Last time you told me you were special. Which is? I don't think they let you be old, slow, and special all at the same time. LoL

I know what you mean. This place has seemed like Bluetraxx recently. There has been a lack of technical content and an abundance of retards.
-
I don't really see myself as playing into it. I believe it's a bit different if I can offer some technical information to either support or debunk even the most ridiculous stuff that comes up in some of these threads. Besides, gimmeeabeer and jayzx750 are both intelligent folks. I figured the thrust thing was a joke, but I thought it would be funny to explore it anyway. On top of that, I am sure there are more people than I would like to think about running around out there thinking that helium in the tires is a great idea whether they had the idea yet or not. :ermm:
-
Do you have a link to these? I don't believe I have seen them before. If they are like the Vito's power pistons, the prting weakens the piston skirt and leaves them being alot more prone to cracking. :geek:

After your first year in college, I think it is worth a spending the summer at home as you will still be able to hang out with alot of friends from high school that either went to college somewhere else or didn't go to college. After that pretty much everyone scatter and it's just not the same. Internships are a big deal to go out and look for after your second year. That is the best way to make industry contact and see what different engineering roles are like. My master's degree took me 3 years to get because I took some of the classes via a distance learning program the UW offered. Of course I did this all while I was working so I couldn't take as many classes at one time. IMO the engineering job market changes fairly drastically every six months. Having the industry contacts helps you sort of feel that out in advance before you graduate. If you are looking to go into the defense business, then world politics and Federal level elections has alot to do with the health of that industry, whereas aerospace stuff has a bit more tied in with the state of the U.S. economy and world trade. If you ever have any engineering career related questions, give me a shout. -

In college I went to skool full time in the summer to make it out of there with my Vehicle Design BS. My MS was something that I did mostly through the UW while I was working. Engineering is a degree that you should grafduate from when you feel you are ready and have a good "in" into the industry. That's just my opinion though. I know several engineers that are successful, blitzed their way to a degree and then ran screaming naked into industry the first chance they got. I think most of them bounced in and out of a jobs for the first couple years before they settled down. I suppose what I did was a compromise between the two style, as in I eased my way into a full throttle circle jerk of the coporate racing industry. :woot: -
I could be wrong as well. The a-arms and front shock mounts are what makes me think it is a GT frame. Maybe one company or theo ther had a fabricator defect.

The translation for that statment from old guy to english revolves around the word work = word. :woot:

This brings up a good point. You need to offer the guy $2k for it. If you decide you don't want the bike let me know. I can always use another bike. :geek: -

The funny thing is that I am now 26 years old, make a salary in the very low six figure range. In oder to do something like that, you pretty much have to go to college. College generally speaking takes 4 years of your life after high school. Then you got to work at an entry level position that doesn't make you $75k per year, thus home boy is just making shit up. -

I figured the guy wouldn't mind the free bumpage since this didn't have anything to do with his bike, then again, I always tend to wander off topic. -

First of all, I doubt you are 22, and I doubt you have a job. Second of all, I am on here all the time on my Blackberry, which little to no effort during my work day. Third of all, I was making $50k year when I was 22 because I was going to school and working at the same time. (the age you picked to lie about is one of the reasons I am figuring you are are not telling the truth about your age and salary). Maybe some day you will get a promotion to lead greeter at Walmart. They might actually let you talk to customers then. I think you are going have to teach yourself to stop trying to bite your own ear first though. -

Firt of all, I gaurantee that I am smarter than you. Second, of all don't get pissed off at me because you can't read and write vey well. Lastly, I am guessing you would be lucky to get an after school job as a Walmart greeter, but atleast you could pretend the blue shopping carts you would get to push around are Banshees. -

The only reason anyone ever give you a hard time for speaking freely is when you say something stupid like you have done in this thread. Honestly, do you think anyone really pays attention to you whebyoudo stuff like this? I simply cannot understand how you function in public if you truely do act like this in public. You are clearly a leading canidate for a Darwin award. -
I don't think I have ever seen an LSR frame that lookied like that.

Generally speaking, a grounded or disconnected stator will not go bad. What will kill a stator is have some wires switched around, which doesn't sound like it's the case here. The other thing about stators is that they can test good on the bench, but when they are torqued down when installed they will test bad if they have a broken winding. I don't think that it is that far fetched to have encountered two failed stators. :geek: :geek:

It sounds like this racing venue would be an easy place to make some cash if someone were to show up with a fairly frugally modifed bike in comparison to bikes that race in Glamis.

Maybe he is on speed?
