i think if you took the upper out, you would be lower, but the coil hat would no longer be in compression. meaning the shit would not work.

can you run your bike without the link on it? i was fucking around today and noticed that the factory shock with out the link, bolted into factory drilled holes cycles ~13" of travel. thats a shit ton. youd have to respring and valve maybe, but 13" is totally worth it. any thoughts? BTW im going to try it once i get my shock back from the builder. and i made the measurements from the fenders to the tire, centered over the axle. they were taken with the shock completely compressed and completely extended with no spring on it.

youre right. its not a big deal. thats not the point. you can revalve your shocks all day long. put in new valves twice a day if you want. is it pracitcal? no. is it cheap? fuck no. ive got 200 dollars in racetech parts for my rear end and i havent bought the oil yet and i get a sweet discount. just think ahead, and like a salesman. the dudes at the counter taking your calls probably pull commission. that means hes doing himself a favor by having you bring them in. but what would i know about how places like that work.

a blip of throttle and no choke. probably wouldnt need the gas but i dont like it to idle so the slides close all the way.
