im in tucson. we usually hit up glamis once a month or so, other than that we ride near Pinal Air park, and in the Rincons that are to the east of tucson.

Throttle cable length, idle screw (if you dont have tors) how do you know they are not going all the way down? The cutout should be to the rear and would make it appear to not get going all the way down. Got a picture of it??

getting videos on the computer

Use the Firewire for uploading video. you will need to be in the VCR mode, and also have a video capture program. if you have win XP it has Windows MovieMaker built in. you may have to download it, but its free and will allow you to do most of the common editing tricks! have fun! -

you get what you pay for as well...spend 30 bucks, and i know your video will not look very good. expect to pay $100 or so for a decent external capture device at best buy that will capture at 720X480 -
i got triple rates w/o rezzies. love em!

had a great time this weekend as well. got up there friday night around 8. rode all day sat and sunday, then headed home sunday night. Only got that little bit or rain saturday night around 5. There was some serious storming going on off to the north and west of glamis though! glad it didnt spoil the party!

you are right, you can not bore the cylinders on later rm250s, they have a nikasil coating. basically you have 2 options. new cylinder, or new sleeve. the sleeve cost about 115.00 from the stealership, and then you have to find a shop to actually put it in your cylinder!

also look for a camera that does NOT have a proprietary battery. I reccomend getting a cam that uses AA batteries, then go and buy some 1850 NiMH or better rechargable batteries. They will last So much longer than normal AA batteries. Also if you are out ridding and your battery dies, you can just throw some new batts in and go, rather than having to charge the cam again! PS. I have had my Olympus C3040 Zoom 3X opt. 3.34MP cam for almost 4 years now...still takes great pics! I would reccomend Olympus cams all day long!! Big Lens=Better pics!

Where do I get a throttle cable?
CombatTalon2 replied to CombatTalon2's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Yep, i think thats it! I do have the idle kit installed, so i guess that is the one! thanks -
Im sure this has been asked, but i searched and found TerryCable, Passion, Motion Pro but non of them list a cable for a NON tors carb top? I know you can get them, but where? the yamaha dealership couldnt find them either. thanks

My choke will not stay out when i pull it out. I pulled her apart yesterday and found a little clip that sits just inside the nut that you screw into the carb. There are some notches on the choke stem, and i can see that the little clip is worn out. anybody had any luck replacing the clip? What did you use? Can you buy just the choke assembly by itself? thanks

Well give me your GPS coordinates, and i will look you guys up! I can give you the coords to our camp ground in wash one as well. Would be nice to hook up with a few HQer and go ride with some real banshee riders...not the normal DS650s and shit i have been riding with latley.

Sounds like a plan to me!! Should be a crazy weekend! we usually camp in wash one, but we will see how packed it is by the time we get there on friday!

update--- pulled my carbs today and cleaned them. I do have the stock 25s in for my pilots. i think they were gummed up a bit. anyway, cleaned the carbs, checked the floats, and put her all back together. She started on the 3rd kick here in tucson. Air screws are out about 1-1.5 turns, so i guess for 2,500 feet im good for the pilot circuit. But my problem is down in Glamis. Goin for pres day, so i guess i will see what happens then. Wouldnt a modifed banshe ie. pipes, head (higher compression), timing advance, normally run a larger pilot? or is that one of the jets that isnt affected by mods?? One banshee jetting website said i should be running a 30 with my mods at sea level? Jetting FAQ

Yeah, my bike has had a high output stator since I bought it. The stator info says its 265W, thats nice. anyway, no problems with my Dyna and the aftermarket stator!

Im not gary, but I am the webmaster @ quicksand motorsports I will PM you gary's e mail address.

thanks, im gonna pull the carbs tomorrow and see what pilot jet is in there. it started fine before the mods. ill start messing and see where i get. i can always set the dyna back to stock for troubleshooting. thanks for the inputs!

Ok, since my rebuild (Noss Head, Carbs bored...) my banshee wont start cold. Even with full choke she doesnt want to start. Never had the problem before the noss head and carb boring. Anyway, does this sound like lean pilots? I have adjusted the Air Screw and the banshee has pretty crisp response off idle at about 3 turns out. I read somewhere that if you go past 2 that you need a bigger pilot. Anyway, just looking for some ideas. Banshee runs great, needle and main jetting are right on for glamis. Im running 91oct. pump gas with Klotz at 32:1. Uni pod filters. Im also running the Dyna Ignition and have it in the Curve that advances timing through the entire RPM range. Stator is at 0 degrees. Carbs are Clean and floats are within the tollerance. also after the shee is warm and then sits for 30 minutes or so i need to choke it to get her back to life. thanks guys!
