Have not mounted the sst but I know the stock clamps don't fit fmf real well. The rubber gromit on the back is to cut down on engine vibration to the frame. Not needed but I would use one, or at least go to the hardware store and use a couple rubber washers on both sides. Jeremy

well like kgl said if all you do is body work (16gauge and smaller) then the 110 is good if you plan in the furture trying say = frame mods or custom work where you will weld 12 gauge to 1/4 in. then you'll be happier with the 220. Go to a welding supply store and ask to demo a machine, most will let you. Then see what the diff is. and I do agree that flux core sucks and you'd be better off with a co2 set up. Don't let them sell you a argon/co2 mix setup if your just a hobbist welder it won't be needed for normal use. my toy

Go with the Lincoln. Snap on welders are to pricey!!! If you like Miller and don't want to pay for the name get a Hobart (they're made by same people with the same insides) Always look at what gauge it will weld up to and get one that will do more, or you won't be happy with running it full heat all the time. If you can, get a 220. The 110 are ok but if you do alot of welding wait and save for the 220. my 2 cent

I quit almost a year ago. If you realy want to do it, then it'll work. I felt retarded (more then normal) the first week. Couldn't think staight. But it all gets better!!! Now I can't even see a smoke in my hand!! For motivation my wifey will sell the shee if I start agian (my arrangment) and works for me. Find something to work for. Save the money you would normaly use for smokes, put it somewhere and set a date to buy something for yourself. The drinking was the hard part for me as well. I just didn't drink with friends that smoke for a month or two. All my friends had no problem with it and if they did then they're not that good of a friend. GOOD LUCK and stick with it. Jeremy

I was wondering if anyone had a tip on how to get on of these. Toomey wants you to buy a whole top just to get the o-ring. Anyone ever find one at a autoparts store or successfuly make one. I got a twist throttle kit on ebay and the box was missing the 0-ring. Want to know if anyone has a quick fix so I can ride it this weekend. Thanks Jeremy
