  1. Yo what's up fellas, I live in Bay shore on Long Isand.Bizanchee and Bird of Flames, I wanted to know about some hot ridin spots around the island so please feel free to hit me up or just post them. LEGENDSS28 I usually ride local. Off the 495(LIE) on exit 56, there is a big pit there that has some decent hill climbs and smalll trails off to the back behind the factories. Or if I feel like strictly trail ridining and taking a risk You can usually find me inthe woods of Pilgrim Psychiatric Center . I really like this spot but sometimes you gotta whatch out for the Mofo in the green patrol car or the jeep hiding behind a curve waiting to surprise you If I really want to go on an adventure, me and my 4 buddies toop it up the Pine Barons. we used to ride up by the riverhead jail off of exit 61 on route 27(Sunrise Highway) which is pretty crazy or even by exit 71 off the 495. These are some sick trail with all kind of terrains and obstacles. Just be prepared to be lost so bring your intuition and a GPS or leave the last one at home for some fun . Well these are my hot spots on the Island now why don't you guy's put me on to some of yours Oh yeah WITHOUT A DOUBT WE ARE hitting upstate Ny this summer to see what all the hype is about. I hear they're some sick trails with stream crossing and all that good s@#* What a DUMBASS! I shouldve checked the date on this forum
  2. Well am back guys with the updates I promised. It took so long for the simple fact that my 'shee is at my boy's house which is 20 miles away so I just can't go out and work on her every time I get the inclination. Time go's so fast . But enough with the sob story here we go - Well Ledofthezep I was hoping you found my problem but the test revealed otherwise. I tested the stator coils along with the pick up coil and they both fell within the specs. I did attempt to take my 'shee for a test ride and although like I said before she does idle better and she pulled off alright up until about midrange. She was having trouble reaching the powerband, she kept braking up and backfiring. I feel her struggling around the block so I pulled in the clutch -from 2nd gear for this is all she would pull - and rev her a couple of time which she almost does cleanly. By this time I noticed that I am slowing down like crazy as if I had applied brakes Soon as I let the clutch back out she just slowly dies into a stop. She starts right back up but has to be revved and slipped unmercifuly to get her back to the garage. I look at my back brakes and they are smoking!! I try to wack the caliper with a hammer to unseize the piston but instead a small flame shoots off I'll deal with that later! Now I decide to retake a compression test while she is warm -unlike last time- and the compression is now almost even and reading 125lbs. Very good news. Now I know for sure she is not blown Now I took out the plugs just to see them and they look brownish black . Maybe to much fuel??? I know it would have been a better reading if I rode WOT in 6th. Anyways there you go. Thanks for sticking with me guys I really appreciate all the advice from all that was given THE SAGA CONTINUES
  3. I didn't get a chance to work on her today and my friggin' job is changing my hours for tomorrow. Which leaves saturday, New Years Day If am not to bombed to pick up a wrench I am definetely gonna check the stator, and in a weird way pray that is the problem, so that I can fix her and ride her like the bitch she is!!!! - am talkin about the 'Shee fellas if the stator checks out okay its back to fooling around with the carbs again.Oh and I will check the intakes for any leaks. Regardless I have to adjust the right float and Banchetta I think your right about the needles, am goin back to stock with the new setting. Oh I can't wait to get my hands on her I will definetely let you guys no the results so don't give up on me yet!!!! OH YEAH I ALMOST FORGOT. YOU GUYS HAVE A SAFE AND HAPPY NEW YEAR !!!! and don't get to shit faced
  4. Well here's the run down. First thing the black box, I don't have one. My whole parking brake along with the hole wiring system has been eliminated. That rules that out. I swapped out the 270 mains for 280's and went down a clip on the needle. The shee started up but I suddenly realized a problem that I forgot to take care of. The damn right carb float keeps sticking and dumping fuel all over . After taking a few hits at it, bam - unstuck. This went on for a while but anyways this time the 'Shee would idle better and rev up fine up to about a quarter throttle. Any input from here to wide open throttle would cause a big bog and then she would scream and start to back fire along with spitting flames . I didn't actually get to ride it because of lack of time but this what she kept doing. I tried to see if she would clean out by revving but she did not want to rev clean. At least this time the popping isn't right off the throttle, she now revs almost fine in the beginning but then she just goes to shit. In my opinion we made progress but were not quite there yet.Maybe now she's gettin to much fuel ???? Maybe I should try using stock needles ??? Maybe sticking float ??? Just keep 'um comin' guys, we'll get it
  5. Alright guys, you're both saying I gotta go up on the main jet so that's what am gonna do. It seems like the easiest elimination or solution to my prob. Am glad to hear that you guys aren't saying it's blown Well I just got home from work and time to catch some I'll jump on it first thing tomorrow mornin, till then if you guys think of anything else I'll check and see in the morning before I take a hatchet...I mean, a wrench to it
  6. The kit did recommend that I start with a 280 main jet and put the needle jet on the 3rd clip. Well I decided since the Dyno Jet needle looked longer that am gonna put it on the fourth. A friend of mine says that's where I went wrong , that the needles are tapered and compensated for. Like I said it was running great but then it was like do you want salt & butter with your popcorn The maintenance guide says it can either be bad gas (low octane) or the timining, or carbon build up. If any other of you guys experienced similar problems please enlighten me on THE SOLUTION The snow is on the ground and I want to go play
  7. What's up felllas, I need some help. After I installed some minor mods: - K&N Air filter - No snorkel on airbox - DG exhaust - Dynojet jet kit (27.5 pilots, 270 main and 4th clip on jet kit needles) my 'Shee was running great. I only ran her 3 times after mods for about a half hour each, and then on the 4th time it happened. She was screamin along fine and then she just lost power and it started to sound as if started the popcorn maker underneath me . I take it this is what detonating sounds like. I took out the plugs, which looked right in color, crisp brown, and I reinstalled new ones anyway. She still doesn't wanna run clear. She just keeps popping and doesn't wanna rev. Also when she is cold she starts up beautifully but runs right only for 3 seconds and then she does her little sissy fit. When I try to turn it on again I kick the shit out of it , and after numerous kicks and cursing she starts up again but same old shit I live 1000' above sea level and run 32:1. My compression test is kinda wacky but #'s don't sound that bad- 115 lbs. right cylinder 125 lbs. left cylinder. What do you guy's think ? PlEaSeeeeeE Help ME SORRY FOR THE ESSAY/REPORT
  8. damn that shit was hardcore, but since it wasn't anybody I know DAMN THAT SHIT WAS MUTHAF@#*IN FUNNY!!!!!!
  9. ClUcK, cLuCk, that's good to hear SUPERCHICKEN No seriously I am glad to hear that your jetting was the same as mine. I thought that because of the difference in needles (stock vs. Dynojet) that might of been the culprit , also using the 3rd clip insted of the 4th, and the 270 instead of the 280 main jet I used. I just don't understand how one second she is running beautiful and the next second she is pinging, heating up, and don't wanna run ? I guess I am trying to keep hope alive but I really know deep down inside that I blew my shit Oh by the way I used the compression tester that gets screwed in and yes I did the test 3 times with the gas wide open and got the same results everytime.
  10. What's up fellas, I know this is a Banshee place but little brother needs up. My buddy has a Blaster that we just rebuilt the top end but we are still having problems. When we tried to fire it up it would kick over but wouldn't start. So we got the idea to tow it around and BAM Brrraaaapp the fuckin' thing started. It ran beautiful up and down but the idle was mad high. Everytime I kicked it presto but here's the problem. When it is warm it will start with no problem but I cant' figure out why the idle is so high. I never touched the carb settings. NOW when the quad is cold it won't start Only if I tow it around to bump start it but HELL NO AM I GONNA DO THIS ALL THE TIME. Please tell me what is wrong, Thanx
  11. I don't have any major mods just bolt ons: -K&N air filter in stock air box(-) snorkel -DG exhaust system -Boost bottle -Dyno Jet #27.5 pilots and 270 mains with the jet kit needle on 3rd clip The jetting is were my buddy says I went wrong. He said that I starved the engine and that I should have listen to the directions.Maybe this is true and he did say to take a compression test but you guys said that the numbers aren't that bad but that 115lbs. on the left and 125lbs on the right is freakin' mind bogglin. I guess am gonna take it apart this week and see what it looks like . YIKES My buddy says stop with the counseling online but hey I believe in da brothahood P.S the dude I bought it from in May claims the motor only had 2 hours on it but he could be jerkin' me around
  12. Yes I did. Then I installed new plugs and when I pulled the new plugs out after running it, they didn't have any sign of carbon on them. The plugs were a little to clean in color in my opinion. Keep in mind that I didn't perform a pug chop but from the outside I thought I didn't have to. I am still wondering if my compression reading is a little out of wack. A friend of mine told me based on my jetting that i may have blown my rings, or worst case scenario blown my whole top end. So what is a good compression reading and if mine is good what else can be wrong?
  13. Alright guys, sorry for the typos and lack of info. I did a quicky since am still at my job with the risk of gettin caught. I wrote to you guys a while ago when i was jetting my shee and the advice was really helpful. Now the problem is if only I would have folled it instead of mixing up my own jet combo. It was running great the first couple of times I took her out -only for 20 minutes at a time- and then came that one day. I took her down the block after a brief warm up and she was hauling ass After the second block I hit her again rounding a corner and the it happen She started to stutter and ping badly as it was very audible beneath me. When I got home a block down she wouldn't rev clean. She was heating up pretty fast as I tried to make her clear but she refused. She starts up on the third kick when cold but i try to rev her up it starts all over. At this point she will idle fine but as soon as I pull the choke out the slightest she dies. From here on she turns into a masochist as she appears to like all the more kicks just to start her, but only when warm. I know am asking you to read alot but when writing I have to tell you everything so that you can best help me. Thanx
  14. yEAH IT'S ME AGAON GUYS aFTER i JETTED IT IT WAS RUNNING GREAT. But you know what they say "lean and mean" So I think I blew my shit and I took a compression test buit I don't know the compression numbers. I got 115 on left and 125lbs on right HELP
  15. Ladies and gentlemen, the result are in and, IT'S GOOD!!! my shee is running on point and I have you guys to thank for it . It pulls alot harder and sounds great while doin' it. I ended up ordering the pilot jets (again ) this time from carbparts.com and let me tell you they fuckin' rock I ended up with a #27.5 pilot and 270 main with the kit needles on the 3rd clip, no snorkel, and K&N air filter. SWEEEEET. The DG pipes are cool for now but if she's good to me I'll treat her to a nice pair of chrome T5 Toomeys for next summer. But for now am just happy to be ridin' again, time to go tear up some trails, laters
  16. Yup guys, you can all say it with me now J A C K A S S!!! I found that out the hard way . I finally tried to jet it and lets say am on round two. The funny thing is that when I put the pipes on the bike never felt that it had to be rejetted. It ran clean through the gears and started up perfect wich made me feel like leaving the stock setup alone (#25 pilots & 200 main jets) but i figured that would be starving the engine. I put a 270 main and changed the needles over to the jet kit ones and left it in the third clip. It is hard to start with the stock pilot jet and it doesnt idle and it is really hard to get going but revs out really nice only at WOT up top. I went to the dealer to order pilot jets 26 - 27.5 but they said the next size up is a 30. So I know I probably ordered the wrong shit again but here we go again. Maybe if I take off the box lid and take the screws out 3 turns it might run? If not I will be visiting www.carbparts.com or just put stock pilots in with the snorkel back on. I don't know but I'll figure it out Oh by the way banshee04le I think the designer of these pipes should be shot.
  17. Hey what's up Banshee Eliminator, I seen that you live in Kings Park, NY and that you ride in the sand pitt I heard of in Kings Park but don't know how to get to. I live in Bayshore and the only pitt I ride in is the one off the LIE on exit 56. I was hoping you could put me on to this spot and hook me up with some directions OR you could just gimme the road and I'll do a Map Quest on it, thanx
  18. Or what about In NEW YORK? I would love to go through Time Square with my wheels hoisted way up in the air and at the worst just catch a ticket for that and nuttin' worse
  19. HELL YEAH THAT QUOTE IS RIGHT ON!! what about the saying in my signiture " Loc Dog don't ride for no trick ass bitches" - this movie is one of the most badass of all time, a true classic this sounds like Don't Drink your Gin & Juice In The Hood While Being A Menace or some shit like that...name alwys was to long to remember
  20. 1st bike was a '95 kawasaki ZX-6E in 2001. But in that same year one quick launch from a light and some A-Hole(unlicensed) making a left into me sent me doing a back flip over the front of the car and breaking and shattering some bones. But Hey I got a little R&R for 2 1/2 weeks and some physical therapy at the local hospital, all this for such a small price to pay I still continue to ride on the street on my '92 Suzuki GsXR 7/11- that's right old school baby!!! BUT ever since I bought my banshee this year I havn't touched the bike once I LOVE MY SHEE
  21. Well this wekend came and went and I didn't lay a hand on her. Friggin engagement party I promised to attend, and the other day got rained out. Good thing though for I found out from a buddy of mind that stock needles aren't adjustable and I had to buy a jet kit. So I called the dealer and they said $90 So I ordered it online at Rocky Mountain ATV and saved $30 and it'll be hear for the weekend, NICE
  22. I was begininng to think that I was the only one in the BHQ who had bought DG pipes. I thought that maybe there was something wrong with my choice, thanks LINCSTER, I will definetely try this setup first along with the other inf you guys gave. OH YEAH, how did you like the setup(DG)? I was comparing headers to my friends FMF Fatty pipes and his have more curves then mind. Don't know what this means though
  23. Hehehe very funny Motul but enough with the the funny shit, the weekend is almost here and I already put the pipes on and the shee sounds sweet! My filter should be arriving between the next two days, along with my chain and 13 tooth countershaft sprocket, so I am ready rock this weekend. Am out
  24. SREDISH. How you doin' by the way? I remember reading about your spill you took. I hope you've been able to take advantage of summer riding(unless you live in the sunny states ) but hey if not that what's f#$*ing great about ATV's- we get to rip shitt up 365 days of the year OH YEAH you guys are probably wondering what the hell made me buy DG pipes? answer= $$$ I got them for a cheap ass price and I coudln't take the sound of the muzzled stock pipes no more!!!! let the bitch scream!!!
  25. With the K&N airfilter I will be keeping the stock air box lid, and from what I read I should be alright with stock pilot jet or one size up. I definetely appreciate the help and I will be keeping you guys updated- in other words I will be bothering you guys again for help - but at least I know where to start. You guys f'ing rock We're not worthy lol am out!
