My went to install reed spacers on his shee, but fell victim to the dreaded Yamaha Strip.
He stripped the threads where the reeds go into the jugs.
I also fell victim to the strip when I drained my coolant for the first time and the bolt you loosen to drain the coolant out of the jug stripped when I went to put it back in.
I guess thats why the Clymer Manual has a section on retapping threads.
Has any else had these problems. Is it just poor craftmanship?
Its just a 30min reed spacer job turned into a nightmare!!
