It's been my experience that it falls out on its own at the most inconvenient time. I went to test and tune at a track, and decided to make some adjustments on my carbs overnight for the race the next day. Got called to the line and the bowl was pouring out fuel. Took it off and the pin was gone. A friend found it on the ground in the pits near the trailer. Don' t know how I got luck enough for that to be found.
So to answer the question....Yeah, just use punch or paper clip or something, or just shake the carb and it will fall it most of the time.
