Used 04' crank, FMF Gnarlies, 20cc domes
Ducman replied to Ducman's topic in For Sale - Parts & Accessories
Domes are sold now too. Forgot to mention the crank still has the stock main bearings on it in good shape. Is there anybody even interestood in the crank? -
Wouldn't beat the camero eh? I thought it was only second to the vett in the 1/4 mi of american sport cars or at least thats what the speedvision compario said. It's got the ponnies but it does have the wieght of a truck. I just hope that its faster than the car I have now so I'm not dissapointed. The new viper engine dodge truck is definitely way more bad ass but costs another $20 grand. Thats all I plan on spending in the first place. I have read that simply adding a chip with fuel curves that isn't as eco friendly as stock gets it real close to 400 hp and with a nice exhaust gets you to about 405, 410. I talked with the cousins today, they said the one they had was a tire smokin good time. Hope they can come through with a smokin deal for me too.

I've wanted one of the these trucks for a long time and my wifes been bugging me to get another truck and sell my car since I sold my old truck 2 years ago to help for the downpayment on our house. Her cousins have a dealership liscense and buy cars from the wholesale auctions in the SF Bay Area and said they can get me a killer deal on one. They had a lightening a couple mopnthes ago, an 02' low miles they got for $17k that I kick myself for not buying off them I believe in 02' they went from 360 hp to 385hp, don't know exactly what they changed though. They are an F-150 regular cab that come with a supercharged 5.4L, lowered sport suspension, big brakes, and 18" wheels. The only thing I dont really like is the auto transmission but it may actually help keep me out of trouble. What do you all think of this truck? Heard any bad things about them? Seems like there is a lot of them that are only a few years old with low miles for sale but I think that is because a lot of guys that buy them really don't realize that it is more of a hot rod than a truck.

To make FMF's louder trade them in for a set of CPI's Seriously though, if you take the packing out of the silencers it will be louder but will also hurt performance. You could try to graft a set of silencers from different brand of pipes on but it may have negative effects on performance as well. The silencers play a role in the pipes tunning.

The FMF Gnarlies sold on e-bay The domes and crank are on e-bay if you want to see some pictures, prices have been reduced as well. Here is a link to the domes "Buy it now" price is $45 shipped Here is a link to the crank "Buy it now" price will still be $250 for HQers, opening bid is $215 Heres a link to some Ducati Pipes I made just for a little show and tell. -
First of all selling the shee is a mistake. 2nd, my choise for any 4 stroke quad is the DMC Alien exhaust, thats what I'm buying for my wifes YFZ 450. 3rd, the raptor will kick ass on the Z-400, but if you gotta have a 4 stroke then squeeze your wallet a little harder and get the YZF or even the TRX over the Z Finally, if your still set on the Z then get the Articat 400, same exact bike (motor and chasis) as the Z with IMO better looks and headlights, fenders that unbolt for the naked sand look without cutting or buying new plastics and best of all you will save at least $1500 out the door on a new one compared to the Z 400. But I tell ya, I rode a nice (eat my dust) wheelie past a lot of piped Z's at the top of banshee hill on my wifes stock 450 at winchester bay last weekend.

I have a stock crank for sale that was just removed from my 04' banshee in perfect running condition. It was removed because I converted it to the 4mm stroker crank motor. The motor has very low hours, broke in and ran for the first 20 hrs on Yama lube 2R and the rest on Maxima - Castor 929. I haven't had a shop check tollerances on it yet and I can have it checked if you want but I guarentee its good as new. A new crank is $450 and I'll sell this one for $250 shipped. If your thinking of porting and want to start out your motor with a tured and welded crank then get this one trued and welded, its probably in better shape than yours! Also from the same motor are a set of 20cc domes (stock stroke/bores) that came with my Noss Head when I bought it. They are in perfect condition and fit any of the heads that will accept the Prodesign style heads. They were replaced with stroker domes on the 4mm stroker motor. $50 shipped. Last but not least, I have a set of FMF Gnarlies with turbine core II silencers (built in spark arrestors, swirrel type not screen type) that look absolutely as good as new, 6 monthes of used. Thouroughly cleaned on all surfaces and repolished on the section near the head so there is no blueing on these pipes. No dents. This set of pipes and silencers are $540 new from Rockey Mountain ATV, I'm selling for $385 shipped or will sell pipes and silencers seperate. I always package everything I ship VERY professionally with insurance and ship ASAP after I recieve a payment and follow up with an e-mail with the tracking # the same day it is shipped. I like to use FedEx Ground to ship items. I can ship by other means if you want, if you need the crank overnighted or something like that of coarse that will cost you a few more bucks. I will refund money on items that are returned within 2 weeks of shipping date and have not been used or dammaged by you or shipping company if you are unsatisfied with them at the time you recieve them minus shipping cost. You must notify me that you are not satified within 2 days of recieving the item. ( You get a chance to do a thourough inspection, just no demos!) I accept Paypal (cash funds or credit card payment funds) or Money Orders. PM ducman or e-mail [email protected] for picture and questions. Thanks, Zack

Ah Ah me me pick me, I know this one! You have to use the good Ol' PV=nRT equation to figure out a relation between compression ratio and PSI. For your application you want to re-arrange the equation to P = (nRT)/V Pressure = (#moles x Universal gas constant x Temperature) / Volume You need to find the n (# moles of the gas present) Calculate n for the volume of air in the cylender when the piston just closes the exhaust port at a nominal temperature. Next take that same # of moles and put it into the equation using the volume of the cylender when the piston is at the top of the stroke (the volume of your domes) and that should give you the Pressure in the cylinder. To answer your question, you could create a chart showing Cylinder cold cranking PSI vs. compression ratio. Its just a PITA to figure out the compression ratio on a 2 stroke. Why compression ratio isn't commonly used in 2 strokes is because it is hard to figure out the distance from the top of the exhaust port to the top of the cylender which is needed to calculate the total volume of the cylender. On a 4 stroke you can just use the entire stroke length to calculate the total cylinder volume. Also 2 strokes have an extremely dynamic compression when running under heavy load due to the huge supercharging effect of the exhaust so it is hard to compare one motor to the next even with the same cold cranking cylinder PSI. Naturally asperated 4 strokes with a similar bore sizes have a much more similar dynamic compression under load so a fuel of a certain octance that works for one with a particular compresion ratio will typically work for another with the same ratio. Thats why on a banshee with a ported motor where the exhaust port is raised you cant reliably and accuratly compare octance requirements vs cold cranking PSI with a stock port banshee.

I'll throw in another vote for about 2 sizes bigger on the mains.

I pay $400 per year for FULL coverage on my Ducati 996 thanks to my awsome wife doing some hard research and price shopping after my rate with Progressive went from $400 per year to $1600 per year the very next year for no other reason than they decided to change the rates bases on their revaluation of that particular model. My new insurance is through GMAC, I started a post in the Tips and Tricks section several monthes ago with 1-800 number and everything. Get a used bike that you can afford with cash, no financing, so you just have to carry PL/PD which is usually very cheap on almost any bike and rider. Full coverage is usually rediculous for a driver with few years of experience or any rider on a sport bike.

anyone know how much hp fords 4.6 has?
Ducman replied to nickxc's topic in General Banshee Discussion
The same year Mustang Gt 4.6L is rated @ 260hp -
My experience with Rockets on a stock port motor is that compared to stock pipes you will actually still have decent bottom end, a bit more power on bottom, a hell of a lot more mid, and a whole shit load more top. I didn't have any complaints power wise switching from FMF's to Rockets.

runs best with air screw all the way in
Ducman replied to roosthrower's topic in Jetting & Exhaust Forum
What Banchetta said, and if your plugs are too dark at WOT then you probably need to go down on the main size. 420 mains sound very large for most ported moters. -
Stock jetting can very depending on elevation where it is sold but typically is a #200 main from 0 - 1000 ft elev. I'd say with the lid off and K&N go up approx. 3 or 4 main sizes, so a 230 or 240. You will probably need to adust the air screws in a bit too since the K&N is less restrictive and will let the motor pull in air easier making it a bit leaner.

Blasters with a pipe and airbox lid off usually run 260 to 280 on the main from the research I've done. With the lid on I'd guess 240 or 250 main, probably stock pilot, airscrews turned in a bit more (richer) and needle middle clip. I dont know how well the pipe will run, probably pretty decent. I'm not very impressed with the FMF gold series on my wifes old bike - blaster.

Well, I was used to riding a street bike where fexibility is a must in order to shift. I bought a pair of MX boots and gave them away after my first ride with them on the shee due to not being able to shift up through the gears; no fealing in the toe, zero. I agree with Duner. The sidi's are as comfortable as a pair of shoes and I'd say offer plenty of protection for ATV riding although not as much as MX boots, unless you consider wrecking due to a missed shift! A limited but easy up/down range of motion with no sideways rotation. You can wear them around all day and forget that you are wearing them, walk a mile in them with no complaints. I have a pair of Sidi Vert II's for the street and Sidi B-1's (less expensive) for riding the banshee. The B-1's are actually made for street sport riding. You can shift with the sidi's just like a pair of vans. A little spendy but I guarentee you wont be disappointed.

I got a YZF 450 for my wife almost 2 monthes ago. The registration finnaly arrived in the mail from the DMV (California). When I opened the letter and saw the green sticker I was very confused because I was sure that it was supposed to be a RED sticker atv. Did the DMV goof up or what? For those that live in other states, Red sticker bikes, untill lately were almost all 2 strokes and now include 4 stroke "racing" motorcycles and atvs. The red sticker machines are banned from using certain public ATV parks and various other restrictions. I haven't checked yet to see if the VIN # on the registration is correct but hell if the registration matches then my wife may have one of the only green sticker YZF 450s in the state thanks to the DMVs apparent goof up. Anybody else heard of this happening or have a transplanted green sticker on their YZF 450? Anyone think I might get busted if the green cops pull it over in a green sticker only area and know that it isn't supposed to be a green sticker bike?

Right on! Damb, all the "good deals" I found when I was looking wanted me to Western Union cash to friggin somewhere in Europe.

In CA the really small ones are illegal on the street but the larger ones are legal, I'm not to sure how to determine which ones are or aren't, I think 50cc up is leagal, basically considered a scooter like a moped and ridding restrictions are similar to a moped or so I've been told. I'm not too sure, but I don't think there is a registration required.

NY sucks ass! I would just check a map to see if NY is still in the US, maybe it has relocated to communist North Korea or went back in time to Nazi Germany and Hitlers trying to round up ATV's for extermination. Gotsta be the only state that makes CA look good! I don't know shy we still call America a Democratic Republic, it really isn't anymore. Face it, we've already been force fed and swallowed socialism with a helping of comunism still on the plate.
