  1. Toomey's usually don't like big pilots, unless you have good porting or running k&n pods.
  2. Are you sure you have the basket seated all the way in?
  3. If I remember right, they come with lock washers. I've had my T5's for almost 8 yrs. now, never had those bolts come out. I have had the rubber/metal silencer mount break. Toomey always sent me a new one free, but I made a billet mount for mine so I don't have to worry about it.
  4. I have used ProX for years, never had a problem. Most factory 2 stroke racers use them, so they must be good. I haven't had a problem with the wiseco's, just prefer the ProX.
  5. I have always used REDLINE LIGHTWEIGHT SHOCK PROOF gear oil, it's got the blue label. It is very "clingy", sticks to everything and never had a problem. It is about $10.95 a quart.
  6. My buddy told me to paint mine with high temp paint, then put them in the oven at 400 for 30 minutes. It has lasted for 2 years and still looks great! He owns a body shop, so I guess he knew what he was doing.
  7. You can get any color plastic, if you want stock, you need to know what year and what colors were available. I just got all new yellow plastic, had to order 3-4 different years to get all yellow, but that's what I wanted. I get a discount but it cost me $326 for everything.
  8. I have close to the same set-up, with a lid. I have 300mains, needle on 3rd, and 27.5 pilot, airscrew 2 turns out. Yours might be a bit different, but close.
  9. I hope you mean 27.5 pilots. If not, that's your problem.
  10. Have you cut off the dip switch in your throttle cover? There is a small micro switch the throttle hits when released, cut it off. I am assuming you have tried to turn the idle up.
  11. I want to go, but can't get anyone to go with me. I'm like blk02banshee, would rather have someone to tag along. I'll keep trying to talk myself into it. P.S. I have room for 1 more quad in my trailer if anyone near wants to tag along, just split gas.
  12. i hope she doesn't go, she makes me look bad!
  13. Well, I guess I'll have to wait and break in the new motor later, not riding in the mud! Sorry guy's, but I am not a mud rider! Too much invested to ride it in the mud, that is what 4x4 quads are for!
  14. I am sure his wife won't mind! After all, it gets us riding together, what more could she want!
  15. Well, I am open for saturday or sunday. It's only a 20 minute drive for me. I'll wait to see who is going when, then I'll decide what day to go. I sure wish you could go Rod!
  16. Sorry man, but need more info. What carbs are on it? (size and make). And what jets do they have in there now?
  17. If just snorkel removed, no holes in lid, and a K&N, I would start at 300, you may end up going down a size though. Needle in 3rd, and stock pilot.
  18. Look up Laurel, IN. It is about an hour E. of Indy and a little S.
  19. Yeah, It has been awhile Rod. Work, work, work, did I mention work? I would love to ride with you again someday, your the only one that had the balls to climb anything w/me Let me know if you have a ride planned, maybe I can take off. Take care.
  20. Yes you can port it with T6's, but you will not get as much of an increase as you will with the T5's. I bought T6's for mine (see mods below) and after one ride, I switched back to the T5's and sold the T6's to a friend with a stock engine. I noticed the midrange power was down compared to the T5's and a little weaker on top too. These people on here are trying to save you hassle and money! If you want more power (i.e. porting/head mods) get the T5's, they will perform better!
  21. Also if the reed doesn't seat on the cage, should lay flat. I would suggest using blue loctite on the threads of the screws that hold the cages together. I had one come loose...............................NOT GOOD!
  22. I run the stock silencers with my T5's when I need them, no need to rejet, I don't think just a silencer causes a need for rejetting, mine always runs fine with them on.
  23. Toomey needles are great! They don't pop out and stick the throttle open! Otherwise, I think you are getting closer, go bigger on the mains if you have pod filters.
  24. What does it run like? What jetting does it have now?
  25. 300-320 main should be close, I would go with the 30 pilot though.
