If I remember right, they come with lock washers. I've had my T5's for almost 8 yrs. now, never had those bolts come out. I have had the rubber/metal silencer mount break. Toomey always sent me a new one free, but I made a billet mount for mine so I don't have to worry about it.
I have used ProX for years, never had a problem. Most factory 2 stroke racers use them, so they must be good. I haven't had a problem with the wiseco's, just prefer the ProX.
I have always used REDLINE LIGHTWEIGHT SHOCK PROOF gear oil, it's got the blue label. It is very "clingy", sticks to everything and never had a problem. It is about $10.95 a quart.
My buddy told me to paint mine with high temp paint, then put them in the oven at 400 for 30 minutes. It has lasted for 2 years and still looks great! He owns a body shop, so I guess he knew what he was doing.
You can get any color plastic, if you want stock, you need to know what year and what colors were available. I just got all new yellow plastic, had to order 3-4 different years to get all yellow, but that's what I wanted. I get a discount but it cost me $326 for everything.
I have close to the same set-up, with a lid. I have 300mains, needle on 3rd, and 27.5 pilot, airscrew 2 turns out. Yours might be a bit different, but close.
Have you cut off the dip switch in your throttle cover? There is a small micro switch the throttle hits when released, cut it off. I am assuming you have tried to turn the idle up.
I want to go, but can't get anyone to go with me. I'm like blk02banshee, would rather have someone to tag along. I'll keep trying to talk myself into it.
P.S. I have room for 1 more quad in my trailer if anyone near wants to tag along, just split gas.
Well, I guess I'll have to wait and break in the new motor later, not riding in the mud! Sorry guy's, but I am not a mud rider! Too much invested to ride it in the mud, that is what 4x4 quads are for!
Well, I am open for saturday or sunday. It's only a 20 minute drive for me. I'll wait to see who is going when, then I'll decide what day to go.
I sure wish you could go Rod!
Yeah, It has been awhile Rod. Work, work, work, did I mention work? I would love to ride with you again someday, your the only one that had the balls to climb anything w/me Let me know if you have a ride planned, maybe I can take off. Take care.
Yes you can port it with T6's, but you will not get as much of an increase as you will with the T5's. I bought T6's for mine (see mods below) and after one ride, I switched back to the T5's and sold the T6's to a friend with a stock engine. I noticed the midrange power was down compared to the T5's and a little weaker on top too. These people on here are trying to save you hassle and money! If you want more power (i.e. porting/head mods) get the T5's, they will perform better!
Also if the reed doesn't seat on the cage, should lay flat. I would suggest using blue loctite on the threads of the screws that hold the cages together. I had one come loose...............................NOT GOOD!
I run the stock silencers with my T5's when I need them, no need to rejet, I don't think just a silencer causes a need for rejetting, mine always runs fine with them on.
Toomey needles are great! They don't pop out and stick the throttle open! Otherwise, I think you are getting closer, go bigger on the mains if you have pod filters.
