  1. I just looked this guy (p4performance) up on ebay and he doesn't have ANY bad feedback. In fact he has very little feed back at all, but what there is, is all positive. I've never dealt with him. Just wondering how he managed that?
  2. 2nd that.
  3. 3 - 3.5 hours without traffic. I 5 South 78 East
  4. Sounds like more work than necessary. Plugs are relatively cheap.
  5. Yup. The piggyback rez version are nicer looking - you don't have to mount them, but it just wasn't worth another couple hundred bucks for them.
  6. Short answer. No it wont work. The plates are two different sizes. The foam filter setup has a samller oval opening than the bolt on type. I agree with the stock plate suggestion. Bolt it on and go!
  7. I'm currently running the setup neilgf mentioned. Stock filter cage with the cage portion clipped off. Removed the foam from the the side of the pate that touches the box. Insert the plate in the box tray. Drill two holes at the top of the plate and through the box. Bolt the plate to the box. At this point it's just like the aftermarket plate with the exception of the o-ring. Slide K&N onto flange of the pate. Cover with outerwear. Whala.
  8. Some good ones in there. I like it. I had a crotch rocket some years ago and had one on there that said: "I'd Rather be Riding Your Daughter."
  9. I paid $440 from Precision Pwersports for those same shocks. Precision Powersports Those aren't the piggyback resevoir. Just the dual rate steelers with rez.
  10. I hope your 'work' involves auditing ebay auctions... Let me guess - nuclear safety technician?
  11. Yup. I just use the crappy mm 'disk' for gapping my plugs. There have been a few times when I couldn't find the thing, and didn't gap the new plugs at all - and to be honest, I couldn't tell the difference...
  12. Not to hijack this thread, but do any of these places use anything besides vinyl? I've seen a slick 'plastic'-ish side to some new covers. It would have to be a lot tougher than vinyl though. I've gone through several seat covers. My riding boots just tear the living crap out of the front edges.
  13. Yes. The sarcasm must have been laid too thinly for your taste, but yes it was a joke. These kinds of stories and their fallout are exactly the amunition child safety activists and overexuberant politicians use to enact legislation which: closes riding areas and restricts atv production and sales. Making it more difficult, more dangerous and more expensive to pursue this pastime. I guarnatee at this very moment there is at least one mothers group right now clamoring to "save the children" citing that news story as their rallying point.
  14. How are those guys not getting sued?
  15. Super M 40:1
  16. After reaqding this I vote we close down more dunes and ban the production and sale of 2-strokes. I know these seem unrelated but hey why not.
  17. Let's see. 1,000,000 mcd. Can you look directly at it without a welding shield?
  18. I say use your own car (or one of your buddies - anything with a hitch) and borrow a 20ft. flatbed trailer. Load the bikes on, and pack it full of gas and camping gear. By "camping gear" I mean several coolers filled with beer and ice. Take up a collection for gas money, then take $10 out of that fund, put it in an envelope, write "INSURANCE" on the front of it and tape the envelope to the dashboard of the car. Get a listing of campgrounds along your route and go. It's worth it.
  19. Was that Joe Theisman?
  20. Well, I went to Gordons over New Years and put about 5 hours total on the new pipes. I inspected the hose when I got home and it looks fine. No melting. I snuck a few peeks at other rides while I was there just to see if they had the same thing going on, and most of the pipe setups I saw were either touching the intake hose or very very close - 1/8" maybe. I think I'll still go get some high temp tape or something...
  21. Just to follow up. It was the wrong plate. Tried to replace it with a new one. I ended up running out of time for the new years trip, so I just cut the stock filter cage, removed the foam from the plastic plate, bolted the plastic plate to the box a la the pro-flow and clamped the k&n to the plastic lip. Worked great. I may forget the pro-flow all together. thx
  22. I leave a little bit of my riding pants on my pipes each trip. I haven't tried the above recommendations, but I'll give it a shot.
  23. Damn. That's a lot of stuff to hate. Stuff that pisses me off: made up bank service charges, escrow companies, insurance companies, car salespersons, dune closures, property taxes, shotty workmanship, shitty overpriced cell phone coverage/plans/service, the RIAA, ignorant environmentalists, dump stations without water hoses, cheap brittle whips, warm beer.
  24. I own a small software company. We do hosted application services etc. Plus I keep the local brewries and beer ditrbutors in business - which I consider work.
