  1. I like the feeling of writing big checks to cover my cc bill for aftermarket parts. That and 6th wide open at show bowl.
  2. I just bought a K&N filter brand new - model YA-3502 for my 2001. I also bought a pro-flow adapter plate off ebay. When I place the filter over the oval flange of the adapter plate there is way too much space between the flange and the filter (> .5"). I tried cranking down the clamp to close the gap but after a while it starts to pinch the filter edge and the connection still isn't tight. So I start thinking that maybe I have the wrong size - either filter or adapter plate. The K&N model number checks out - it even lists "Banshee 87+" on the box. The adpater plate I have no idea. Anyone experience this problem? What size should the adapter plate be? thx
  3. I am currently putting on a a new set of FMF SST pipes on a 2001. When installing the right side pipe, I can't help but notice that the large outer water pump hose is being pushed in by the fat section of the pipe. I know these water hoses are made for high internal temps, but are they really capable of handling an exhaust pipe pressed up against them? Seems to me that the pipe would burn right through the hose. Am I missing something or is this normal? thanks.
  4. This site has cool micofiche assembly diagrams. Might help you out. http://216.37.204.202/yamaha_oem/YamahaATV.asp
  5. I've got the same thing going on. Fires up first kick when it's warm, but it's a bitch to start after it's been sitting a few weeks or longer.
  6. Gotta give the guy credit. He is out working to get back in shape. Notice the wheelbarrow.
  7. What the hell is "tygon"?
  8. Hey, at least it fits now.... I've found that violence and heavy equipment can be very helpful when dealing with AC parts. YMMV. If you don't like the idea of cursing AC while trying to bend aluminum, then I would suggest taking it back and spending a little more on a decent bumper. Duncan racing and Tag make nice stuff.
  9. Just curious, but what exactly gets ruined in the top end here? thx
  10. Thanksgiving is too big a Glamis weekend IMHO. Not even really a weekend as the crowds start showing up the week prior and stay through thanksgiving. If you just want to sit at olds and watch the crowds then by all means. On any big holiday weekend there will be lots of big money rolling around out there to look at, but also way crowded and lots of rangers. Plus, on any big weekend competition hill will be closed down at night. I prefer the "off" weekends. Hell, I'd go midweek right after the wind blows hard if I could arrange it more often. Season start in October and die hards with high heat tolerances ride through May. As far as spring break goes, if I were you I'd go to San Felipe Mexico.
  11. Lakeside, CA East county San Diego Glamis is a short 2 hours away.
  12. AC racing bumber. Mine didn't fit right either. The mounting holes didn't line up. I went the route of "fixing" it with a 5lb sledge.
  13. Anyone have any experience with Team Alba ProComp A-Arm Suspension Kits? Looks like their own a-arms and works shocks for about $1200 chrome. Anybody here have em? thx
  14. Nevermind. Sorry. Needed to look one picture deeper for the details.
  15. How much do you want for your a-arm setup? What kind are they? "Picture_2649"
  16. He's still selling banshee grills but they are a different design and the starting bid is $20 rather than $10. I like the old version myself. Wish I had grabbed one.
  17. I have been looking at purchasing this setup with J-D performance a-arms +2+1. What's a decent price range for the JD +2+1 arms and the works shocks w/ resevoir? Most of the places selling a-arms suggest new shocks if your bothering to upgrade your a-arms so it ends up being a bigger purchase than I planned. But if I'm going to do it I want to do it right. thanks
  18. Good info to have. Thanks How about kits from "ACTION RACING" or American Star Racing's Sport Star A-Arm Kit? Some of these places claim to have lifetime replacement warrantees. Would much rather not need one, but nice to know it's there if I break anbother set.
  19. Does anyone have an experience with magnum a-arms or other magnum aftermarket suspension products? I've been shopping around to replace the stock a-arms on my 2001 banshee and the prices can climb out of sight pretty quick for some of the setups. Products from magnum seem a little more reasonable but I'd like to hear any feedback from actual users. Any suggestions on other good a-arm setups would be appreciated as well. I don't need fully adjustable race stuff. I ride 95% dunes - glamis thanks
