  1. First off, I'm not trying to hi-jack your post 97banshee350. I was just wondering why people put so many coats of P/C on, does it do that much better of a job?? Thought that this related to the relevance of the cost of getting a frame P/C'ed.......
  2. Definitely watch out for the '01 tranny. It's about $750 to fix if you do the work yourself. I had a buddy that trashed his.
  3. I've had my pipes ceramic coated for over a year now, and all they need is just a little buffing now and then. Unless you count the occassional burn mark from my boots. Overall they have held up really well
  4. I am looking for an average price of rebuilding my shee. I realize that this is kind of an open ended question, but I guess what I am looking for is a ball park figure on how much I am going to spend to tear my shee down, PC the frame, replace a few bearings, then reassemble it. I already have an extended swingarm, and was thinking of some quicksand a-arms. My engine is sound, so that doesn't need to factor into the cost. Thanks inadvance for any input....
  5. Definitely different for Burger King, but very entertaining
  6. You got me looking at my cell bill. last month I sent 4 text messages, and my wife sent 237, and she still out talked me 18 to 1..
  7. My buddies axle on his bike was beginning to rust, and what we did, was secure the back end of his quad off of the ground, then started the bike, and used it as it's own lathe, while sanding off the surface rust with some emery cloth. It turned out really awesome, then we sprayed it with a cheap can of clearcoat, and it has held up pretty well. The best thing is that we didn't have to tear the rear end down, just had to take off the rear tires. Quad type with held to protect the innocent(It wasn't a shee)
  8. My Brother has his guys leave their dump trucks unlocked so the thieves don't break anything, but the last 2 times they were such morons, they didn't even try to see if the door was unlocked, instead they just went to prying on the door frame, and still weren't albe to get in. What MORONS!!!!! I guess that stupid people shouldn't be thieves...LOL
  9. I've got 20x10x10 with 10 paddles, they hook up awesome, and I haven't really noticed any difficulty in turning, I like knowing that I will go straight when the front ends lifts off of the ground............
  10. I've got one of the craftsman lifts as well. I just modified mine, so that the front wheels also swiveled. Works way better for turning bikes in the trailer as well.
  11. Maybe I'm just voicing my ignorance, but I can't imagine how a -2 swingarm would handle better in the dunes. I'm not calling you guys liars since i haven't had the opportunity to ride a shee with a -2, but I do know that I will never turn in my +4 for the dunes. I know that most of the hills at the dunes here in Oregon, I don't even like trying with a stock swingarm, let alone a shorter swingarm. Then again just my $.02
  12. I definitely learned the hardway. I've got an 01 dodge with a cummins turbo diesel & an auto tranny. Last year after I installed a chip & new exhaust i smoked the stock tranny. My torque converter got so hot it was purple. Well $3500 buck s later, I've got a tranny with a 2 year warranty, and completely hand built from the ground up. Now It chirps the tires when shifting from 1 to 2, and then to drive when I get on it. Now I've also got a big'a$$ cooler up front.
  13. Same thing Hear. We both take a set amount of money out of our checks for personal Item(Toys & Fun) then the rest is for the household budget. Then If I work over time, 1/2 of It's all mine. Worked 60 hours last week. What will I get this week.....Hhmmmmmmmmmmmm.....
  14. If you compression is over 150 then you need to run a higher Octane gas. I've always been told 150-165 lbs of compression run 50/50 mix, and anything 165 lbs and above should be straight race gas.. Then again just my $.02
  15. Now that's a serious Ice storm, Just hope you didn't have to go someplace in a hurry..
  16. That one would be for the guy that wanted to rebuild one from the ground up..LMAO
  17. That's why we always block our bikes in with a pickup or a utility quad, then chain them all together. Hopefully they get what they deserve, and canlink them to some of the other thefts that have occured over there
  18. I use Golden Spectro @ 40:1
  19. Just use what I do, get a BIG pair of Channel lock pliers. and hold on real tight..
  20. I'm currently running a pair of 28 PWk and I love them. I can't remember where i got them, but you will definitely be pleased with them....
  21. I've got ins with Foremost ins. for $325 a year with a $250 deductible that covers everything from theft, vandalism, fire, and collision. By the way that is with both an '01 shee valued at $7500, and an '04 grizzly valued at $8500. they just hand me a check minus the deduct...
  22. uess that I should of clarified, the UPP set-up has a slider for the swingarm, and rollers for the upper and lower chain guides with sealed bearings.
