  1. Those Racelogic templates produce as advertized. They were the most rewarding mod I have done yet. Not only do you finally get to dig into the motor and see what makes her tick, you start to visualize 2-stroke operating principals. I read mac dizzy before I ported,(kinda dry) then I revisited the site after I had done my first jug. Very cool to relate to such a technical read.(in a very small way)
  2. Clean the hell outta it before you start. leave the motor in there. Take the front plastics off and remove the fuel tank. Get a clymer's manual and make the piston holding fixture they show in the clymer's. It works real nice. Stuff clean shop rags around and in the openings above the crank to avoid dropping stuff into the crankcase(or you will be removing the engine). Change your oil ya cheap bastard.
  3. Dirt or sand?
  4. A little bearing grease will hold it in real nice. I have been told by several people to keep the gasket sealer away from my head. I pinched the o-ring gasket once during installation, just used a little red rtv, has worked good for all last season. I intended to just get a new o-ring, but since it has held up, it is permanant until the next tear-down. Anyone know exactly why rtv is a bad choice for sealing up a cool head?
  5. Toomy makes a good pipe.
  6. There is no debate. Go read the Toomey website about the blueing. Harleys pipes blue a little as well. Don't change jetting because of pipes changing colors. Change jetting after properly diagnosing a lean/rich condition.(plug chop) A"little fat" might be better than a "little lean", but both situations will hasten a rebuild.
  7. You have never imagined Widdowmaker hill at the cinders here in Az. That hill is prolly close to a half mile and is very steep. Cinders don't slip like sand or dirt. Only modded banshees conquer that hill.
  8. You never know till you look. I just sold a ported banshee with stock carbs. (took off the pjs and replaced them with stockers.)
  9. That stock head might give you trouble if it isn't resurfaced. All those dings and nicks will give you hotspots. Might be time for a coolhead with some high comp-domes.
  10. Take a carb off. Remove the reed cage. Look inside the intake. Black painted= Not Ported Bright Aluminum that looks like someone took a dremmel to it= Ported If you are running 100MPH, you must have a moderate ammount of engine work done. You need to know and understand these modifications before you do damage to the motor. Souds like a strong runner!
  11. If you need to resleeve, I have 2 stock pistons/ rings you can have if you pay freight.
  12. DAMN I guess I shouldn't have mentioned "piston skirt". Sorry for the jinx. Thats ALOT of chit to pour outa your motor. Never seen one literally BLOW UP like that!
  13. Why do you think it's running rich? Why don't you just tighten the chain with the tension adj.?
  14. Yeah, that was my big hang up on the huge intakes. Gotta get the rest of the stroke to agree with it. However, every year at Glamis, someone shows up with somthin' that makes you just scratch your head and walk away. Sometimes expeimentation pays off.
  15. Looks like a ring, my friend. Better a ring than a piston skirt. Next time, check your plugs BEFORE you try to kick it over again. "Horrible Grinding Noises" from deep inside your engine sometimes means that there is a problem. Trying to start it up again can double your trouble real quick. Get it ported while you have it apart, and you might clear those doubles next time!
  16. Dude, heres whatca need to do..... 1. Fn' punch your "friend" in the mouth. 2. Clean your carbs. Change your oil. Clean out your fuel tank. 3. Quit worring about a topend job until you have concrete evidence that the engine is tired. 4. Go to your doctor and get checked for tourett's and ADD. 5. Get rid of that snorkle. Your problem might be that you are not replacing the airbox lid correctly. Get rid of the stock filter sys and get a clamp-on filter(pro-design,etc).
  17. Please post a dyno sheet when you get one. You really changed the intakes in a major way. I am REAL curious to see the sheet on this one. This is kinda one of those "what if" situations that come up after talking in the garage with a few buddies. No one that I know has raised them that far out of sheer fear of what would happen. Props for trying somthing extreme!
  18. Do a plug chop with your current settings. Best to know where you currently are and then adjust accordingly rather than just taking a stab in the dark. Also, whats your premix ratio?
  19. I guess the Honda guys win. I can't compete with censorship.
  20. Mine will run hotter than hell all day. Hooked up to a good ole' 240 I think.
  21. I got one. My shower spits out hot water in about 3 seconds flat and never runs out. Hot as hell, too. Never have to worry about sediment in a tank, elements, or a flooded garage. I was told you will get your money back in electricity savings in a year or so. Mine has a 5 year warranty, too.
  22. Rotate the choke knob to drop/ raise idle. It is really simple. The idle on these carbs are easier than any other carb I have owned.
  23. Hell of a guy to call someone an ignorant bastard on another thread, then get scared when that someone calls you out and have a moderator delete it. Punk ass bitch.
  24. Rate your own plug. No one cares about dirtbikes, especially 125s.
  25. Switching your cables made a difference???? Maybe you need to sync your carbs. Take the filter off and see if the slides operate EXACTLY the same throughout the full range of motion.
