  1. I personally would build a smaller motor for 1/8 mile. Thats a long ride for such a big motor, but it might work good. Properly set up it should get int the mid to high 5s i would guess if it was set up right. I know of a few 350s running 6.30s and 6.40s.
  2. Its only a +4, with i dont remember what size shaw. The front is metal techs a-arm set (+3.5 foward) with 12in Marvin Shaw strut. It sets a little higher than alot of draggers I see. It works pretty good though, maybe since its kinda short and tall I can make the PW2s hook decent.
  3. Just a gas 350, no override, drag ported wiith some 34mm lectrons. We dont have any paddles, so were just gonna hope we can hook decent. It doesnt matter that much though since well just be bracket racing.
  4. Heres what I'll be riding, maybe. I might not race it, since its technically not mine, but ill be riding it some on test and tune day.
  5. Save some time and take it to an upholstry shop, theyll pull it nice and tight and charge you like 10 bucks.
  6. Thats what were hoping What do you have that should be in the 3.5 range? Thats gettin r done. How bout we all post a pic of what well be riding out there? Ill get some tomorrow
  7. were planning on beig there.
  8. Go talk to some local guys, i know theres one around here thatt knows his stuff.
  9. might as well, if you dont drag alot, but the pro wedge 2 will most likely be faster. Very light, and swell as you go down the track. I know we gained almost a half second on a bone stock scrambler 500, and has out done every other tire I have tried (cut turf tamers, ohtsu radials, holeshots), this is 300ft dirt and clay tracks.
  10. thats them. Some people use 4-snows, i have never used them but i swear by the PW2s.
  11. Ohtsu makes the prowedge, you can get them from chapparal. the 13/41 would be good, but might not be good for trailriding with some smaller tires. It would give good acceleration though, its also up to personal preference. I know from my experience, first gear is almost useless in most banshees ive ridden. Even in our heavy modded banshee geared for 1/8 mile i have to shift to second almost immediatly. In dirt drags, unless u got an override and you are hooking up real hard, 1st gear is totally useless. Everything aside, if you really want some improved times at the track, get some pro wedges over them razrs. If you must leave in first to make trail riding better, go with as much gear as your motor will pull in first so it doesnt make 1st gear totally useless.
  12. Get some prowedges and start in second, probaly need about a 14/44 or 13/41 to start in second with some pro wedges.
  13. Get some pro wedge 2s, gear it at about a 13/41 or 13/42, and start in second. We have the same setup as you except with no portwork, stock carbs, and a stock head thats been cut and it has ran high 4.90s the first two times it was out.
  14. If you have a round housing go to JJ & A, they sell them
  15. Its not really about the motor, its all about setup. We have a stock port banshee with fmf fatties that has ran a 4.97. Our gas 350 with no override has ran a 4.34(usually goes consistant 4.5s though), but used to only run 4.60s until we messed with the setup some.

    Alky?

Like enforcer said, get somebody that knows what they are doing to convert your carbs. Also, I would highly recomend an EGT, this will help alot in getting it dialed in and keeping it from runnig to lean. Im not sure on the fuel pump thing, I would ask my builder or whoever converts my carbs.
  17. Yes that would bump me out of the class at our track, but I wouldnt do that anyway. With as much killtime thats needed for wheelspin on dirt i think I can shift just as fast.
  18. I think with just a wheelie bar I could get very consiistant 4.4s with some 4.3s a few times, same thing with an overried. Both combined I like to think I could get into 4.3s with some 4.2s. This is all wishful thinking though, never know until I try it. But if I were to go override, that would take me out of the pro-stock, so i would probaly go to alcohol and go ahead and lighten the frame some more, maybe get some drag pipes. I like to think that if I went full blown alcohol and all that it would go 4.0s, but like I said earlier, its wishful thinking.
  19. Dependability, plus I can race two classes at our track. It runs consistant 4.5s too, has been 4.42, 4.49, and somehow it went 4.34 last weekend, all this with no override, inframes, and a stock frame. Not bad eh?
  20. Thats what I was saying, so that equals about 25k. It doesnt really matter though, I'll stick to the gas 350.
  21. I heard that it wasnt exactly necessary, but it was best to tig it. I dunno though.
  22. What wire are you using to weld chromoly with a MIG?
  23. My builder does it, ran about 8 months and we tore down, looked good as new. I cant say how big a difference it makes, because he ported them when he ported the cylinders, but i will say that the bike runs decent
  24. DANG, i figure I could build a decent looking triple for that, it might look quite as good as that, but thats why I ride. The bike takes care of the times, I take care of the looks lol
  25. Castor 927, something between 32:1 and 40:1
