I smoked 4 10+ yrs... did some pretty stupid things...back then, But, I wouldn't change a thing...I'm 32 been clean 9 yrs.... Damn I sound like I'm at AA Sorry but that's the truth!

My buddies wouldn't start I tried everything pilots,fuel,carbs.... It turned out to be the stator crapped out..... Just like u said kick real fast and sometimes it would start!!! My guess is like u said stator....
