U must have honing and boring confused, boring the cylinders makes the cylinder diameter larger, honing just gives the cylinder walls a surface that the piston rings can adapt to and decrease the chances of the rings not seating well. Honing is a pretty simple process . You can buy cylinder hones for fairly cheap. Honing is usually done whenever the cylinders are removed. Boring can only be done by a professional shop (unless your very talented and have the right equipment).
Also , when honing, be sure to go up and down the cylinder to give it a criss-cross pattern... this aids in the correct seating of the piston rings
