    DOGS!

    PERVERT!
  2. That's more or less it. Cept that primary function of reeds is to act as check valves - only allowing the air/fuel mixture to flow into the case/cylinder and not back out through the carbs.
  3. Measure the inside diameter on the engine side of the carb in milimeters.
  4. Maybe...but then again you might appreciate a shock that actually works.
  5. for jetting click benbb's jetting FAQ in my signature. It'll explain carbs too. For some basic 2 stroke theory, just do a google search. There's tons of websites out there.
  6. Congrats man! Nice to have a little recognition for your money and hard work.
  7. You'll lose some performance from the loss of backpressure but go for it if you really wanna. If you notice on out of frame drag pipes they'll have a 10" or so stinger on the end of the expansion chamber. That's to keep up the backpressure.
  8. Save another $100 and get the rear shock redone by TCS.
  9. Hey to each their own man. As long as he keeps it fairly stock he shouldn't have too much of a problem with overheating.
  10. The slides should be even the whole way. You probably have a little bit of slack in the cable for the carb that's behind. Turn the bolt thingy on top to take out all the slack. The slides will only go so far down before they stop. Trick is to get them at even tension at the fully closed position. Sounds like you're running lean, which is very bad! Find out your jets and click BenBB's jetting FAQ in my signature to figure out where you should be. Always error on the side of being rich. Oh and make sure you warm her up. Worst thing you can do to an engine is run it hard when cold. I've seen bikes seize up and do $1000's worth of damage just cuz the owner was in a hurry and didn't want to let it warm up.
  11. That's what I do.
  12. I'm 99% sure the cyls are also 20lbs
  13. Sure I've had deals fall through. I always figure it aint mine till its sitting in my hands and both parties are happy. Faster definately put himself in a shit position by asking for mo'money. Had it been me I just would have refunded the money and said something came up. Actually I wouldn't have sold something until I was sure I didn't want it and knew for certain what kinda money I was looking for. Its a shitty deal any way you cut it but nobody is any worse off than when they started.
  14. Hasn't this topic outlived its comedic value yet? I mean its cool to throw it out there when somebody asks how to adjust the valves on the shee, but starting ANOTHER thread on the subject??? Holy hell every joke that can be made has been done 6 or 7 times on this board alone! Lets let this one die.
  15. BTW walt...since the wife n kids won't be around, I hear Scores is the strip club of choice these days.
  16. RMATV is a pretty good starting point. From there you can gauge how the other shops in the area are doing at screwing its customers. They're not always the cheapest, but usually they're fair.
  17. I haven't ridden the 916's but I can comment on the toomeys... The t6's will make more power on an otherwise stock bike, but if you get some porting done the t5's will respond better. IMO the t5's are a much better buy since they're still a great all-around pipe, and compliment future mods. Tell ur buddy to stop listenning to the stealership and talk to us instead.
  18. You could always use a nylon (u know...for chicks legs). I used to put those over my filters on my rc cars. I've heard of some atv users doing it as well. Doesn't really repel water but it keeps the dirt off and can easily be changed halfway thru the weekend.
  19. If anyone does find a crack, post up your weight and whether u run nerfs or not. All the parties involved are big (200+) guys with nerf bars. Engine size doesn't seem to be a factor. I wanna narrow down the cause.

    DOGS!

I hate cleaning up alarm droppings!
  21. Eh I think he's in the clear since he offered a refund. He shouldn't have tried to raise the price but if he was having some issues with selling them before he was ready he should have just sent the money back right off and said that the deal was off. My suggestion is for faster to return the money (he has) and shannon can walk away and get some elsewhere. Neither party is happy, but neither party is screwed either.
  22. I'd recomend going to the dmv and getting a new title issued. If you have a bill of sale and the name on the BOS matches the last registered owner then you can get a new pink very easily. Having a BOS with your name on it and the registration in your buddies name won't do anyone any good. DMV WILL NOT issue a title in this case!
  23. Sounds like corrosion mixed with dirt. Use a scotch brite pad.
  24. So did it run good when the temperature was warmer and now that its cold outside it runs like crap? That's because cold air is more dense. The colder it is the more air you actually are letting in. That's why you need to change the jetting for every 20 degrees below 60*F. I'll let you figure out what that means in centigrade. Click the link to BenBB's jetting FAQ in my signature.
  25. YESSSSSSS!!!! Coming to Glamis for prez wknd right??
