  1. Pull the hubs and check out the splines. Chances are if it was ridden w/ loose bolts those splines are trashed.

    Custom Axis

I'm looking at rear shocks and I'm either going TCS rebuild or Axis. Obviously I'd rather go Axis but its a bit more $$$. I was checking out Axis' site as well as K&K and it seems like they only make the dual adj. single rate rear in XC or MX. Also, K&K didn't seem to have options available for my weight and my +2 swingarm. Maybe they do but its during the checkout process. I'm mostly a dune rider but I do like jumping alot. So my question for those of you running Axis is: Do they have other valving options available? Also, what's the best price you've found? K&K is $820. I've already called Axis but haven't gotten called back yet.
  3. Relay's are pretty easy to figure out. Basically they've got a 12v in (usually labelled 30A. Connect that lead to the positive side of the battery. Then straight across from that is the ground. For the 2 other leads, one goes to positive on the switch, the other to the positive on the componant you wanna run. There's also 5 prong relays available for running several relays in series but you don't need that. Bosch relays run about $5 or so.
  4. Nope that's not normal. Your splines are worn - probably due to a loose castle nut. Pull that hub and see if the hub splines are worn or (worse), the axle splines are worn. You can temporarily fix worn splines w/ a little aluminum foil wrapped around the splines.
  5. Got the brake hub taken care of...still looking for that sprocket hub. Oh yeah and 'Bump'.
  6. Hmm...I always use zip ties. Course I mounted mine behind the front bumper. Regardless zip ties work good for it.
  7. Did you re-install the choke tube between the carbs?
  8. Mistakes #1 & #2
  9. I'd recommend sticking w/ just pipes/air filter for starters. That should keep you happy for awhile. After that you can step up to a new head and a timing plate. Those mods alone will make a shee that will be tons of fun to ride for quite awhile. It'll be shit-gobs faster than that 400ex. edit- If you really wanna dump some money into the new toy, do the above stuff and then spend the rest on the suspension. Banshee's have terrible suspension! I'd do chassis mods in a heartbeat over motor mods.
  10. Its such a short distance that it aint a problem. I did the DC conversion and am running Trailtech's dual 35w HID's. Justintoxicated has the same setup as me but he's running 4 of the 35w HID's - but he's not running them through the stock switch. Lots of guys are running high wattage lights thru the stock switch/wiring w/ no problems.
  11. Oh geez not again. Do a search and you'll find a few pics, but mostly people bagging on anybody who runs those turds.
  12. Just remove the TORS.
  13. I saw a shee w/ Red's setup and his rear vent would piss oil out after jumping a bunch. Wasn't alot but made for a messy rear end.
  14. Justintoxicated...You could always check ebay for a wiring harness
  15. Not that I'm saying you should do this, but you could always stamp your VIN from your current shee on there. Course that doesn't work too well if you've got both bikes w/ you at camp and the rangers pull up.
  16. Take a look guys. He's also running +7 advance. You want to run the lowest octane w/out getting detonation. The internet is full of guys that swear they notice a difference w/ higher octane fuels. But I think the change is psychological (not to mention financial) vs. physical. Gotta justify spending all that cash somehow! If the 101 has worked well for you so far, stick w/ that.
  17. Hey I just think the guy should know before he dumps all that cash in a LT setup and is disappointed w/ the performance.
  18. Looking for both these parts. They can be ugly but the splines must be good and the bolt holes round.
  19. Tygon gets really soft once the temp starts getting up there. I've had hoses blow off at temps low enough that I could still put my hand in the water (albeit briefly). Bout 130 tygon is pretty much useless.
  20. So Az...are you aware of the bump steer issue?
  21. Hey man this site is great and all...but at some point you might have to expend a little effort of your own. Nevermind...I just ordered you a sample. It should arrive by Friday.
  22. Don't need a compressor. I got this little job (Clicky Clicky) and its done everything I've needed from it so far. Its not as powerful as the pneumatics, but its good enough for 99% of the jobs. Also it goes on sale pretty often. I think I paid $30-$35 for it.
  23. He's kidding. Those cushions are to lessen clutch chatter. Nobody runs em after their first clutch maintenance. So don't worry about it.
  24. Here's a quote from Gleasm on the previous page of this thread: Now go call new age industries. I dunno where you're at but for California the number is 877-851-0713. Tell them you're curious to get a 5 foot sample. At this point the guy on the other line will either say, "that'll be $xx" or "yes sir that'll be shipped right out free of charge". You'll have your answer. Seriously man...all it takes is 1, 2 minute phone call to get an answer to your question. Hell you can even come back on here and post your results! Its been 5 days now that you've been wanting an answer to whether or not the sample was free. When all you had to do is dial a toll-free number!
  25. That setup will handle well but still overpaddle your shee.
