I also hear or read somewher at the R is getting electric start next year. That would definetly be incentive for me to get one over the yfz. When it comes down to ne or the other which ever one i can get a better deal on will decide what i buy later on.

Price what it would cost to do the stock cylinders, it doesnt take much to get over 700 just in the topend on stock cylinders when all he will need is cylinders, pistons and domes. Also where did you get domes for $20? and where are you getting your cub from.

keep the 4mm crank and sell the stock crank and stock cylinders put that money towards the cub all you will need is the cylinder pistons and domes. It will be worth it and you should only be out 500 or so dollars out of your pocket.

I dont know about the new 1000 but my friend has a 03 750 and he likes the way it handles compared to the 1000.

I would think you should only be in the 140-160 range maybe smaller pic up some of those sizes and go from there, which needle do you have? If i remember correctly my 35's have a CEL.

It is a good idea to replace bearings and seals, especially since you are going to have it apart already. Also if one of your seals is damaged and you try to re use them chances of water and dirt getting to the bearings is higher.

After looking at mine all you should need is a spring compressor, compress the spring and slide out the top plate holding the spring on. -

After you get it of and before you put it back on put some never seize on the shaft, i took mine of the other day and all I needed to get it off was my puller and ratchet, even after i put it on with a impact almost 2 years ago.

I know you dont have to bore but there is always that what if, all it takes is a little nick from a bit .

I would go ahead and run them until your next rebuild, and do all the work then no point in wasting a bore.

That is one of the nicer bikes that i have seen on ebay in a while except the lights, I especially like the looks of the R1 tail section.
