Get yourself a Clymers manual and a set of basic tools and go for it. It really isn't that hard. Just bag everything up and label it when you take it apart.
Man I know what you are saying. Not that I wish this on anybody but try going from two good incomes then getting divorced and working for less. Paying $850 a month for child support while trying to finish school and pay off the ex's student loans since she is so "poor".
Anyway, I've just found lots of cheap things to do for fun. My Banshee is my last prized possession. Can't remember the last time I went to a movie or even a decent date for that matter. Things happen for a reason though. Eventually you will get a good job and money will be flowing. Then you can just sit back a laugh about "the good old days".
Dammit!!! Here I thought I was special with my shiny new Shearers. I haven't ridden with anybody yet that has them. Most people haven't even heard of them. All I know is that when I went from my Fatty's to these I almost shit myself when they hit the powerband.
I'm not saying anything is wrong with the Rockets but for not being able to produce a dyno chart they sure are a lot of money. I emailed White Knuckle Racing and was told that the Rockets are comparable to CPI's but they recommend the CPI due to availability. The Shearers show a slight, and I mean SLIGHT, increase over the CPI on a dyno chart I saw. I think if somebody put the three pipes on a bike and tuned them all perfectly there would not be much of a difference. I just like the Shearers because they aren't all that well known yet and you can pick them up cheap.
Those dirtbikes are a lot of fun but you really have to respect their power. I bought a YZ250 after not riding for 20 years and damn near killed myself the first few times I went out.
Well, I have decided to stick to the sand only now so I have some Shearer inframe pipes on my bike. These Fatty's need to go so somebody buy these. They are a great all around pipe and in good shape. This is how they look right off the bike. A little cleaning and you will be good to go.
Well, I decided to wait for more reviews before I dropped that kind of money. Personally I think that Passion porting and Rocket pipes are very overrated. Show me some dynos and then they can justify some of the hype. I guess I'm just lucky that I waited and ended up going with a local builder that I know does good work. Put on some Shearer pipes after I saw how they dyno'd against CPI's. My bike is much faster than I expected and it was a hell of a lot cheaper.
I run a +6 and like it. With stock I couldn't hit the gas without standing it straight up. It is a little long for tight trails but I mostly dune so it works great for me.
Exactly. He just did mine and my bike feels like I have an extra engine now. I keep scaring the shit out of myself with all the new power.

I just put some new Shearers on and used the stock Yamaha orings. I had to fight with the pipes but they did finally fit how I wanted. When those things hit, holy shit!! I damn near fell off the back.
They have some on there that update every 1/2 second. I think they are the "commercial" ones. That would be fine for what I would want but I guess a drag racer would need real time.
What gears are you guys running to hit those speeds? I hit 77(according to the GPS) Wednesday in the sand but that was running 14/41 gearing. That was pegged in 6th for a few seconds.
Pull the cap off, slide the spring up, slide the cable out of the notch, remove the two screws holding in the brass retainer, pull the needle out, move the clip up. Reverse to put it back together. 5 minutes for each side max.
