  1. Thanks alot, i just happens that we have a bunch of non-formeldahyde insulation left over at the house we are currently build, I will just grab a piece of that tomorrow. I have had 3 buddies that have gotten pinched for db violation in WI One guy twice on 2 different machines both with "quiet cores" in them, one time near Park Falls and the other was just outside of Rock Dam (near Black River Falls). Heck I got checked for db level on my Kodiak which is stock besides the wheel kit. I have a friend that is the sales rep for Part Unlimited around the Black River Falls area and he also told me that the WI DNR is cracking down. Where is you cabin located?
  2. After 3 years I am finally getting my Banshee back out of the garage, and with some fresh premix it popped off on the 3rd kick! I took it to a local shop that does decibel testing, it came in at 96db. I know that the Wisconsin DNR has gotten really tough on the sound limits and 96 db is the limit. My silencer has not been repacked in about 10 years so I am guessing its probably shot, I am hoping that repacking it will maybe drop me 1-2 db. So what packing material will net me the most drop in db level? Thanks alot guys!
  3. A group of us are looking for somewhere to go riding. We have riden all over Wisconsin and Minnesota, and also Little Sahara 2 years in a row. Now we are looking for a new place trails, sand, ect. Does anyone know of any places in KS, NE, or MO?? Thanks Paul
  4. Your right, the machine shop isn't going to bored the cylinders until they have the pistons. I was just saying that I was going to have the cylinders bored instead of just doing the rings, even though the cylinders were at 64.39 and 64.393. I was thinking about advancing the timing +4 deg. and maybe putting in new reeds and also spacers. Anything else?? Thanks guys! Paul
  5. A couple buddies of mine and I tore into the Banshee on tuesday night, the jugs are now being sent out to get bored the next size up (was stock bored), the pistons are on order and so is the thin base gasket. I was going to send the jugs out to get ported and polished but, I desided to bore and put a high comp. piston in my Raptor since it was using alot of oil. But anyway, are some little things that I should do to the Banshee to add a little more power???
  6. I e-mailed Dave at Dave Moore Racing and he said that he didn't even want to touch my wheeler since it has a Dynoport 2-into-1 exhaust. Now what?? Does my pipe actually restrict the mods and engine that much???
  7. I think that I am going to send my jugs out to get ported, who does the best job, Trinity, CT??? I have hear good and bad things about both. What do you guys think?? Also about how many more HP wil this get me?? (see sig for banshee specs.)
  8. I have basically the same set-up as you, only I run a K&N with a modded air box lid, the snorkel removed, and I also have a shaved head. In the summer I run 210's for trail and woods riding, 240's for when we go to the dunes, and 250's in the winter all the way down to about 15 degress, below that I run 260's. I and quite a few of my buddies that have Motofast pipes have been running our machines like this for years. Mine is now going to get rebuilt over the winter since its down to about 90 psi from the 168 is had when I first modded it in 2001. Hope this helps.
  9. Sorry about the port/polish thing, I am used to working on V-8s and not 2 strokes, so they are really new to me. The head is already shaved .035. I am running a Dynoport 2in1 pipe. Also what compression pistons should I run?? Someone also told me that reeds are basically all the same (stock vs. aftermarket) was I lied to??
  10. My 01 Banshee is starting to get extremely tired!! We just got back from Little Sahara yesterday, and while riding on Saturday in order to get my Shee to start when it was warm I was having to hold it at about half throttle and kick the #&$* out of it. So I am now looking at a rebuild, my question is. what kinda mods and parts should be done. I do mainly woods riding, but we also go to LS each year and I want something that will give me the power that I need for sand. (or maybe just want ) Here are what my thoughts were, bore it out .060, advance the timing 4 degress, and send the head out to get port and polished. What do you guys think??? What else should I do or do differently?? Thanks Paul
  11. Hey zilladude, 364rocket and I will be there with 6 other guys. We will have 5 Banshees, 1 Raptor, 1 YFZ450, and a silver 440EX. And will be driving a pewter chevy HD crew cab and a blue dodge durango. We should be riding by about 10am on thursday the 20th. Keep an eye out for us!! What all machines will you guys have?? See ya in the sand! Paul
  12. Hey guys, myself and somewhere from 8-10 guys are making the long 15-16 hour drive from here in Wisconsin down to Little Sahara. Seven of us were down in LS last year for some fun and now this year we got more that wanted in on all the fun, and some beer I was just wondering if anyone is going to be down there the same weekend as us. If so, let me know, maybe we could meet up. Later Paul
