  1. Why won't a regular dial type tach work?
  2. Yeah get some TM rollers and chain slider...they work great.
  3. If you did all that and you are using standard jetting then that might be the problem with your loss of top end. Might want to go up a jet size or two and see if that helps.
  4. I would just go ahead and buy a brand new gasket. You get all that work done...it's just cheap insurance.
  5. Yeah i've heard of people doing and seen some pics. Just do a search on here for YFZ450 shocks or something like that and you will see pic of how you can do it...you have to do a bit of grinding on the shock mounts but very minimal so it isn't very hard to do...and they say they work just as good if not better than Works shocks.
  6. I had the same thing happen to me a couple months ago. Turns out it was my amp. Brand new amp but I can't remember what was wrong with it but I had to send it back to the factory to get it repaired. So you might want to take it to a car audio place and have them check it out.
  7. Depends on how much money you are willing to spend. If you are planing on raising compression I would suggest buying a cool head. They lower compression and cool better plus they allow you to change domes whenever you want for more compression. Although, dollar for dollar porting is probably the best bang for the buck.
  8. I have a stock crank out of a 1998 shee for sale. It's in really good shape. The only thing that needs to be replaced are the bearings. Otherwise it's in really good shape. The only reason I took it out and want to get rid of it is because i'm putting in a new stroker crank. Anyone interested? I'm sellin' it on ebay so if you are interested here is the link...and the reserve is set at $100. Also I attached a pic of it below. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...&category=43977
  9. I'm finally getting my motor ported and stroked! I'm getting a Stage 5 low end race port and I'm putting a +4mm LR stroker in it. I'm using the 795 series Wiseco pistons and puttin' in 19cc domes. Can't wait to get it back and see how shee rips . For all you stroker guys out there, how do you like it? What's the powerband like? What kinda gears are you runnin'? Big difference in low end? How does your clutch hold up? Any feedback would be great.
  10. I used to overheat quite often riding trails in our timber. There isn't much room to get speed and flow air threw your radiator and cool it down so I tended to overheat if we were riding for prolong periods of time. Then I added a Noss Performance head and changed my coolant out and put some Engine Ice in and I haven't overheated since. Hardly any signs of heating up at all.
  11. I was wondering if any of you have cut your rear fenders? I was thinking about doing it and I need some ideas or patterns. If any of you have done it post some pics so I can see them and get some ideas. Also, is there a website or something out there that I might get a printable pattern of some sort? Thanks.
  12. Yeah I thought it was a pretty good idea and easy to do plus. I don't want to have to buy a bigger carb if boring out my jets wil work.
  13. Has anyone ever done this? I don't see why you couldn't. I have a single carb set up on my shee and a 35mm Keihin PWK and right now I have the biggest jet in it that I can find...a 200. I was just wondering why couldn't you just take a tiny drill bit to it and bore it out just a bit to increase the jet size. I don't see why It wouldn't work. Does anyone else agree? Well besides not nowing how big of a jet you have in, if it runs good after you bore the jet out why not do it.
  14. I would start out with a 180-185 main and a 50-55 pilot.
  15. Hey yall! I am about to get my motor ported here shortly and I also want to get a +4mm LR stroker crank too. My question is, what all is needed to install a stroker crank like this and what type of power gains are expected with/without a port job? Is there a noticeable difference in power? What gives more power, +4mm or +4mm LR? Is overheating and reliablity an issue when installing one of these? Thanks for your time. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
  16. Yo! I was wondering if anyone out there has had any experiences with Duncan Racing port jobs? I'm getting my motor ported soon and i'm narrowed down between Duncan Racing and Patriot Racing. I've heard alot of good things about Patriot but haven't heard hardly anything about Duncan. I was just wondering if there was anyone out there with port jobs done by Duncan Racing? Thanks
  17. If you only have one inline cooler then you slip it on the top line, but if you have two then slap one on each line. I'm not really sure about the temp guage but i'd say on the top one cause the coolant exits the motor from that hose so mount it on that one for the most accurate reading i'd say.
