  1. haha, i get the same thing, "when are you gonna put that trim up, we need to repaint this, can you put some crown up for me, why is this door leaking". hell, anymore, i just get my subs to come in a do it for me for free on a rainy day or something.
  2. Well, hell, you got two 35's..., all you need is a manifold. I'm not saying the single carb is the perfect solution for everything, but I do believe that under mildly modded motors, it has some serious advantages. The ease of jetting is just an added benefit, but that's not why I have it. Did you see how early the power comes on in that dyno sheet I posted in the Banshee Repairs forum? 50hp and 43lbs/tq. at 6,700 rpm, with the peak power at 9,200 and still at 50hp and 42lbs/tq at 9,500. That particular machine has a funny dip in the middle tho, dunno why, i'm thinking porting. most people have to ignore me because i'll go on and on when i believe in something. why don't more people try it, i think because there is a lot of people who diss it but don't really know much about it and it puts a negative stigma on it. (is stigma the right word?? ) BTW, what are you runnin on your 500?
  3. My Douglas beadlocks just cost me, well my wife, $327. Your call.
  4. really? what about bored stock carbs, would that surfice? Stock carbs are usually bored out to 28mm. So, there ya go!!
  5. Main home = over 7 digits. Arena = $150k Mgr. House = $150k Employee Houses - $60k each Workshop = $40k Fencing = $40k+ Roundpen = $35k Roadwork = $40k +/- Horse Barn $160k Entryway for ranch = $25k Entryway for main house = $30k And lots of little bullshit like landscaping, drainage work, cleanup, etc. Let me just add, this "main" house is the owner's, who is 34 years old, weekend house he visits with his kids on the weekends and occasionaly has parties and entertains. And honestly, he often will visit it with his "girlfriend". The owner actually lives in Dallas.
  6. Girls girls girls!! Who gives a f*ck who likes what. If he likes his KDX or whatever the f*ck, then that's good for him. This ridiculous banter belongs on bluetraxx, or maybe dirtriders, but not here. And some wonder why this place has been getting boring lately.
  7. There is nothing "new" about it. No upgrades, no mods, not even a face lift. In fact, the magazine took a banshee me and you would see in the dealer and they put the plastic on it. That's it. You can't get that fugly bastid from Yamaha, but you can buy the plastic from Maier, and I'm sure Maier "comped" the mag for doin that.
  8. General Contractor Building... * New residential homes * Equine Facilities (Arenas, Barns, Roundpens) * Metal buildings (shops and other metal structures) * Fencing (Vinyl, Pipe, Metal, Wood) We specialize in building "total ranch packages". We cater to people who buy undeveloped acreage. We come in, build roads, a new home, horse barn/cattle barn if they want it, some want a riding arena, put in fencing and do the whole deal from start to finish. Not very many will do that and we're pretty good at it. And, we have a lot of experience with horses and cattle, where most in our industry don't know squat about livestock, so we can help "guide" the customer. Where we live, there are more horse people, horse trainers and just everything horse per square mile than anywhere else in the entire world. People come from all over the world to buy horses here, because this is horse-central. 75% of our business is to these people. Here's a project we built a few years ago. We built this "main" house on 200 acres, built a 42 stall barn, 2 employee houses, a manager's house, a workshop, a 120'x200' covered arena, a 50' covered roundpen and put in 5,000 feet of fencing and corrals.
  9. No no no!! They just took a new banshee, and put Maier's butt ass fugly raptor-lookin plastic on the thing. It's so fugly, I'm embarassed to call it a banshee. It looks like a freakin mini raptor. But, it's the same old banshee.
  10. Sleepin in your trailer. Nah, I'm probably gonna bring an enclosed / 4 horse trailer. It's sealed and insulated and blings, with plenty of room for 2 quads, tools and such. Mike's gonna bring some cots to lay our heads on. We need to find an area/spot that we can fit a whole bunch in. I hate meeting a whole bunch of people and then being spread all over the damn place. We need to make a decision now as to where we're gonna camp, north or south camp and then plan on that. The south often fills up quicker, so maybe we ought to plan on the north camp. I'm getting kinda excited, it'll be a fun trip.
  11. Yep, those things will do it. The 3 biggest killers of motors are: 1) Lean jetting 2) Overheating 3)Poor preparation of cylinders before installation And it sounds like you've experienced all three. Get it right the fourth time and you'll be set.
  12. Depends on what your going to do later on. If your just gonna leave it stock with pipes, then the stock size are fine and honestly, I wouldn't spend my money on new ones, just get the TORS removal kit and be done with it. If you have plans on porting, then get some 28's. Unless your stroking, there's no need for anything bigger than 28s.
  13. i wounldn't run those pieces of shit for nothing. they're only so so in the sand, pretty decent in the mud, and suck everywhere else, and well beat the hell outta you. if you want something aggressive, try a Maxxis Sur Trak. They're good on hard pack and loose trail, really good in the mud and good enough in the sand to get by.
  14. I'll def. have to give the sand boarding a try.... even though I've never ski'd . Alright, let me think if I wanna drag that bastid across the sand as well, hadn't thought about it, but I'd sure as hell pull some peeps. Not gonna get on it tho, I can just visualize catchin the edge of the board in 4th. BAM!! So much for any activities over the winter while your full body cast is on ya.
  15. Yeah, I usually just use a flashlight or the sunshine. I pretty much never chop my plugs, really no reason to, if you now what your looking for. Cool, let us know how it works out.
  16. CEJ, I hope to run one of your setups sometime. I'm thinking of cutting a stocker that txblueshee has and then putting your carrier on it, but i'm still in the planning stages.
  17. If it's a sputtery drowning feel and not flat bogging, then you might be a tad rich on the main. You could try 380s and see if it clears. But you have to make that call. Reading the plugs is key. Up inside the porcelain, there should be a ring that's dark chocolate colored. You also want the base ring and ground strap to have a dark brownish color. You can do a plug chop to really see how the ring looks. Just do a search on plug chop.
  18. I was wrong about Banchetta's findings. His findings were that no other dual carb setup will outperform a stock carbed banshee that is stock or stock-piped. He did not say that about a stock-ported banshee. I was searching yesterday for some dyno info and read his post where he was talking about that. Just wanted to rectify my findings. Also, I posted a single carb dyno sheet in the Banshee Repairs forum. Take a look at it fellas and tell me what you think of the curve.
  19. That tank is badass. I've been wanting an oversized tank but don't really want a fugly bastard on my banshee. That think really looks good. So you have the front fenders, but it eliminates the tank plastic correct? What about clearance, looks like a standard stem will work okay, am i wrong?
  20. Haven't heard from Screamin in awhile, just checkin to see if he's still out there.
  21. you can always count on Mike for a sarcastic comment... limited, your more than welcome to meet me here and follow us, provided you can keep up!! Last I heard, I gotta ride with txblueshee the whole damn way!!
  22. stock what, carbs?? i had all my mods that i currently have, except for lighter flywheel and timing, when I went to the single carb, so I had a definite before and after feel and it's infinitely better now. The low end is much stronger, midrange went from strong to explosive, the whole power delivery is much smoother, and I gained overall top end. There's no way dual carbs are going back on my machine.
  23. yea, i'm thinking that has something to do with the porting. it's not my bike. i do know the bike was tuned and dynoed at that shop, but not sure if it's the jetting or porting or what. i'm assuming that the shop had it jetted correctly.
