  1. Generally, it will say whether it's okay for premix, or not okay for premix.
  2. We all forgot to mention Patriot Racing. I've head A LOT of good things about their motor building. I went with Gorr and so far it seems to be a really really strong motor. I haven't dynoed it or anything yet, but it pulls freakin hard and smooth. I probably would have went with Patriot if I could have gotten in and out within a decent amount of time. Gorr's turnaround was 2 weeks and it was priced good, while that's not why I went to him, it's a good plus. I do not think you can go wrong with Gorr. One little issue I had with Gorr, wasn't bad, but communication was a little weird, not bad. I was wondering when my cylinders would be coming. He didn't call to tell me he'd received them, so I wondered if he'd gotten them. I called and asked if he'd gotten them and he vaguely remember a set of banshee cylinders he'd gotten in. He said about a week and a half and he'd have them out. Two weeks later I hadn't heard from him and was figuring he'd call to go over how I wanted the cylinders. Now, I had a letter in there detailing exactly what I wanted done, but I figured he'd call me anyway. Well, at the 2 week mark, I started getting a little frustrated and wondering if he'd started on them, if they're done or what and was gonna call him the next morning. I get home, and my cylinders are on my back porch. Now, I'm probably being anal and looking back, it was really no big deal. I'm a communication nut, that's what makes me warm and fuzzy. Every time I'd call Gorr's shop, Eric would answer, I just didn't want to harass him every other day as to where my cylinders were, but he is/was easy to get ahold of if you needed him. Try and get ahold of Patriot by phone or via email and it'd be 10 times harder and you'd be waiting 10 times longer, or at least it was for me. I got one reply email about a month after I sent it from Patriot and couldn't get them on the phone. I'm not talking bad about Gorr, just letting you know what to expect. As of this moment, if I had to do it again, I wouldn't hesitate to sent them to Gorr. Thing is, anybody that's good will be busy I'm sure, so it's a give and take I guess. There is a vid of Tylers 500 banshee and Stephens Gorr banshee racing and it's closer than I'd expect it to be, but of course the 500 takes it towards the end. I can't remember if there's a vid of the stroker and stclark's Gorr bike. I have them all saved on my puter.
  3. I have as much fun trying to read tit's comments in a scottish accent as i do thinking aobut what to buy next for my quad..... but after awhile I go Oh, and us texas folk take offense to being called a yank, just for the record.
  4. maybe someone can swap with you, but I doubt you wanna wait long enough to find out. chop away and let us know.
  5. His "rear" is 3 bigger which would gear him down. That still explains why your losing to him. When you both hit 3rd gear, he's turning more mph than you because your undergeared. Gearing down is not the way to win a drag race, it can be helpful in a technical environment, but put your stock rear (41) back on or go to a 40 and you'll be moving faster quicker. Make sense?
  6. My manifold does, but.... you already knew that. Seriously, hope you get it figured out yo!
  7. This ain't Bluetraxx. I will say I can't believe this thread has gone this far. I think Brooke is cool and I think this thread is ridiculous and the fact that it was even started is stooopid! I have no prob with sikgirl and her man, but the fact they've gotten so wound up is funny in itself. That's all I'm gonna say bout that.
  8. Think I figured out what you all were talking about..... nevermind.
  9. I haven't messed with it yet today. I will say, just from glancing at your pics, that it's way easier to mess with it when your bike is standing on it's ass. Flip that bitch up and you'll have better access to it yo! Well, I did anyway.
  10. Bridgestones are pretty good. The Dueler A/Ts are good for an all around tire and the M/Ts are nice if you want all out mud terrain. They last a good while and are super quiet. I run a 33" Bridgestone M/T on my Chev truck and you can not tell your running mud tires and they ride really good. Best overall smaller truck tire I've ran. For my real tires, I run Interco Trxus M/T tires. They have a slightly tighter tread pattern than the Super Swamper but very similar and they are awesome tires as well. I'll run them next on my Ford, but I couldn't afford them first time around with doing the lift and rims and all. I HATE BFG's!!!!!! The sorriest tire ever made. My truck came stock with them and so did my wifes. I had three blowouts in the first 9 months. My wife just had one as well. They suck and are way way overpriced.
  11. Sounds like you'll be set.
  12. If you have an impact, that works well and much easier. I use a 3/8" impact on the low setting and it pulls the nut right off.
  13. Yea, guess none of us thought of that..... But suspension is very important.
  14. My bad. Didn't know it would overheat the stator, good to know
  15. Any dyno sheets Fireman?
  16. So is there some "modification" I should be doing to my stock basket when I replace the clutch? I'm confused...
  17. You described the pliers right. They have two little nipples on them that fit in those holes and spread it. Hey, there's only one way to learn, and there's a lot of people who don't even have the balls to try that shit themselves so it's no biggie to ask. We all learned from someone.
  18. What he said! Don't start modding until you know where you want to end up with your shee. That way you can mod it in a way that will get you where you want to be down the road. If you go out and buy stuff that doesn't do what you want in the scheme of things, you'll be buying and then rebuying to replace. We've all done this to some extent, but the more planning you can do will save you down the road and get you a machine that works how you want it to. Good luck!
  19. This carrier has an outer snap ring, the black ring there. With that one, you'd use a pair of snap ring pliers, take the ring off, then the plate slides right off. When the carrier is set, you just slide the plate back on and install the snap ring back on. No seals should be messed with.
  20. In what way does compression affect port timing, as in higher compression does this to port timing.... and what benefit. I get a little out of my knowledge base when we get into port timing, so an opportunity for me to learn here....
  21. you have to take the caliper plate off the carrier and then slide it in from the left side (left to right) and then reattach the caliper plate and then tighten down the swinger bolts. real easy yo! good luck.
  22. I started with the second one from the back. Got it in there and tight, then went to the next one to the front tightened down. That leaves the front one short. I actually had to drill a new hole to get the front one to mount up where it's supposed to and I haven't attaced the rear one yet. I just got done doing this earlier this evening, so I know what your saying. What a bitch. I'm not sure what I'm going to do with the rear, but I believe I'm going to have to mod the bracket to fit better, it doesn't want to seem to fit up in there. I think I'm going to cut away parts of the ends to allow it to wrap around better. I run a PRM front bumper and that'll pretty much take care of holding the front one in anyway, but what a PITA!! The felt pads I bought worked awesome also Banshee. I cut them in little strips and not one piece of the skid is touching my frame. So I'm excited about that, but I probably did just as much damage trying to put the f'er on. Good luck!!
  23. Banchetta, at what rpm do your PT Mids sign off. I've got my ride going and broken in and am getting used to how they sign off a little earlier than my Fatties did, and was wondering what rpms you experience them signing off at. I'm taking my machine next week to the dyno and just wanted to compare with you.
  24. Go with a set of Douglas Ultimate Billet center wheels. They have a rolled edge and are as stout as a rim can be. They look super trick as well. Be prepared to pay for them tho.
  25. the hard to start and the bogging are symptoms of a lean condition, and that's what happens when the temps drop. your buddys might have a more restricted intake where the temps won't make a whole lot of difference, or they could've been jetted a tad rich to begin with and it didn't lean out as much. go up a size on your main and then go up a size on your pilot as well, and also play with your needle. you might want to put it in the 4th clip from the top/blunt end if it's not there already. rod's got the info right on for you, nothin for me to really add.
