  1. Engine Ice is the best and ONLY coolant I'll run. If you search for it, you'll find plenty of reading. I've personally posted in Engine Ice threads at least 5 times before.
  2. Yep, Sick's right. Put a small jack underneath to take some pressure off the motor and keep it from falling, then take a long blunt punch and tap it out with a hammer. A long thin punch is a necessity in any toolbox.
  3. As they both said, I also swear by the EBC R pads. They have a great feel and grab hard, especially with stainless lines. I've been running mine since last summer, June I think, and they've still got some pretty good thickness on them.
  4. It'll help all over. Only thing it will affect is starting. Before, with +4, it'd cold start on first or second, but since I've gone to +7, it seems that it now takes 4 or 5 to cold start. Warm starts have always been first kick.
  5. Looks like we got a Hiper-biased crowd in here. I'll just take my Douglas Ultimate Beadlocks elsewhere.....
  6. I'd say, if your sure it's running rich, pull the air box lid and then run it. See if that helps much. If your running a little rich, that should help it run better.
  7. I had a Pro-Flow with Uni when I had my twin carbs and ordered the single carb kit and it fit right up, no issues whatsoever.
  8. The only way to get the full potential of your mods/motor is to properly jet it. Considering it takes just a few short minutes to change the clip to the 4th position, I'd sure try it. It might make the difference in how the midrange pulls. I ran the 4th in mine with twin carbs and it worked best. Often a machine jetted on the lean side of the line will run great, but be lacking in power just a bit, so moving the clip might make more of a difference than you'd realize. Give it a try and tell us how much hp your are or are not losing.
  9. Depends on your compression to begin with. If it's stock or say under 150, you'd be safe going to +6 or so.
  10. you can bump your compression up to 155 or 160 and be safe with pump gas and still add enough extra umph to accomplish what you want. You could just mill your head for a cheaper alternative, but you won't have the added cooling benefits. Your decision to make.
  11. I'm at +7 and I like it!!
  12. Me too, that is if my Maier order hasn't fully processed yet.
  13. yea, you can run a 50/50 mix if your borderline as well. I never do that because I'm too lazy and just didn't think of that. You can get race fuel at most race shops and some dealerships. just get the phone book out and call some local performance shops, dealerships and such to find some. I live in smalltown hicksville and there's like 3 places close by I can get it, so I'm sure you can find some. Later,
  14. Man, I'm in big need for that shiz if no one has gotten it. You need to post back and let us know tho. If you need a buyer, I'm your man, no question. later.
  15. Whether you need race fuel or not is dependant upon your compression and partly by timing. With 20cc domes, you may or may not need it, depending upon your elevation. Run a compression check. If it's over 160 with your timing, I'd run 100 octane, if its 155, then you shouldn't have a problem, but it wouldn't be a bad idea. If it's much over 160, then you might wanna run 104 or higher. That's the rule of thumb I go by. There are some that may run 165 and +4 timing, and use 93. They may not have a problem, but it's too close to me, one hot day or an air leak with lean jetting could be the difference of blowing your piston into bits... just my opinion. Late. EDIT: I have 160 lbs. and +7 timing. I run 104 w/ 4.5% oxygen. Better safe than sorry.
  16. pm dlnoss or go to www.nossmachine.com or click the Noss Machine banner up top in these forums....
  17. To find out more about local races and such, contact your local dealerships and race shops. Ask them about local racing. When, where, what's needed, and things like that.
  18. aight, get a Coolhead/Nosshead and bump your compression up some for more power. Or for some blinging, get some rear hubs or some rims.
  19. pipes my man, gotta get some pipes. if you don't have any, then save for it and buy a new set from k&k.
  20. Brad, I'm gonna try and snap some pics of my bud's setup and post em. I just have to find my damned camera.....
  21. I would most definitely just pull the carbs off completely, and clean them out with carb cleaner and compressed air, but be sure to blow the dirt OUT and not INTO crevices. Also, make sure you unplugged ALL the TORS connectors. Later.
  22. that'll do it. how'd you figure it out??? Glad it's all back to normal man.
  23. No worries. Just checking out my options. Most of me loves my machine, but a part of me is still jealous of the easiness for those 4-stroker sumbitches! I'd have to have a arms and shocks and don't know if I'm prepared for that.
