  1. I don't know that you'd have any room between the rad and the steering stem. it could work with a hi-watt stator most likely and just use the lighting circuit and a switch. use the fan when your not using the lights, and use the lights when your not using the rad. technically, if you need the lights, it's probably night and the heat wouldn't be as bad anyway. still, you need some room for it, maybe you could space the rad farther forward to allow more clearance in there. i will say that a PWR or Fluidyne radiator, a Pro Design pump impeller and using 100% Engine Ice will help a lot. A Noss head, not Pro Design will flow better, but be sure not to up the compression any more than it is or you'll just be creating more heat, and lastly, make sure your jetting is dead on or it'll create heat as well. the fan is not a bad idea, you just have to overcome a few small things.
  2. we can't recommend anything without knowing what kind of power you want. CPI's and Rocket's are great pipes but they're not going to give you low trail-riding/woods type torque like fatties would, however both would complement mods well. you ought to try searching for : pipes, exhaust, fatties, toomeys, rocket.... etc. i could go on, but it'd take awhile. just search around and there's plenty to read. oh, and welcome to the hq.
  3. bigboy, sorry to hear about your pains. find a good girl to help.... take your mind off of them...
  4. my piped and cammed 450r takes my buddies mild ported, single carb, Coolheaded, Paul Turner piped banshee regularly. We're pretty close actually but I can get the launch every time and can usually stay in front unless I miss my shifts a little. By the time he's hitting 6th gear, he'll usually start gaining a little ground. If he gets a perfect launch on perfect turf, we're pretty even. I haven't been able to saddle up my banshee and 450r at the same time to compare, one of these days I'll get him on mine to see how it compares.
  5. Must we always venture off into gay bickering and "mine's better than yours"... you know who I'm talking about... And Mike, your thumper has to be the loudest sumbitch I've ever heard.... but there's nothing wrong with that...
  6. sahara is hot as folk right now... for me anyway.

  8. I love PRM bumpers.
  9. Jen, whatchu doin on here.... Whitesboro, TX as well and don't get to Murray much anymore, but I've been wanting to get up there for a round. Oh yea, I gots a banshee and a 450r, don't know which I'll ride, probably both....
  10. The Winter Olympics... they're going to do ski jumping off of Big Ben...
  11. this is stupid and it's been done....
  12. That does look very clean for 2k, nice job 350X. For cleaning the pipes, steel wool works best. Get some 000 wool and scrub away, it'll shine up a pair of chromies and make em look like they were just bought. Scott
  13. Have you ran any plug checks? If it's running bad at full and you just back off to 3/4 and it picks back up, pretty obvious which jetting circuit.... Read THIS for more help on the troubleshooting and let us know if you have questions.
  14. Don't forget your stock carbs are worth something as well.
  15. yep. sure is, like 6 hours from me.
  16. does that mean your gonna come up or not. I've raced in Kilgore several times. Talk about a rough sumbitch....
  17. Is it a flat dull bog or a wet sputtery bog? Does it ever backfire? Ride around with it for 5 or 6 minutes under 1/4 throttle and see what the plug looks like. Try going up on the pilots to a 30 and see if that fixes it.
  18. You need to find a "buddy". Plain and simple, you have to find someone with a running banshee that you can borrow the cdi, coil and stator off of. Then, not all at once but one at a time, put these pieces on there and go ride for a bit and see if the fix is found. If it starts acting up, take that part off and swap in another part until, hopefully, you've found the issue. Rare has a good point on the resistor plugs, make sure you take out the 7's and replace them ONLY with BR8ES until you get this problem fixed. Buy 2 or 3 sets. Also, you need to get a timing light. Park a vehicle next to the quad and put the 12v connectors to the car's battery, then hook up the light's pickup wire to a plug wire. Try to fire it up, if it's not starting, ensure that you have light coming out of the timing light. Try the other side. Also, check your grounds, and I mean EVERY SINGLE ONE. Check back by the CDI, then check by the coil, just check them all and verify the ground with an ohmmeter to be sure. A simple loose ground can cause severe pains on a running bike.
  19. sorry to hear of your troubles. you should be more than able to run a mile on wot as long as your jetting is setup for that. everyones pretty much covered what I'd be able to say so I'll leave it with that. Good luck on getting her fixed back up. Scott
  20. Have you ran a plug check?
  21. The answer to your problem is in that one statement. I should make you read it very close but I'm not. Your changing the main jets to fix something only the needle can. The needle meters how much fuel flows through the main from 1/4 throttle to 3/4 throttle, but the needle is what you use to adjust that range. Put the 300 in there and then go up and down on the needle clips to find the best spot. Is it bogging from leanness or richness? Is it sputtery or flat bogging? I'd say go to the 4th clip then 5th and see if that helps, if not, go the other way. In all honesty, if your running strictly pods, the added flow at mid-throttle might be enough to constitute a needle taper change, but play with the clips and let us know. Read THIS to understand a little more on how to troubleshoot your jetting issues. Scott
  22. Look HERE and you'll see that they retail new for $135 a piece.
  23. The "flat" refers to the slide thats in the carb. The different shapes or designs affect the way air flows in and around it. Mikuni flatslide carbs is all some engine builders will use. from Sudco: Mikuni
  24. So, if the plug looks lean with the snorkel off, try upping another size on the main The snorkel is a pile of ass that should be taken off and thrown away, period. Take the snorkel off, check the plugs, and jet accordingly. IMO, 260's do sound a tad on the lean side, but my opinion is strictly that, an opinion.
