  1. This is probably better suited for the Repairs/Mods forum. Cutting the silencers will do NOTHING but make it louder than hell. If that's what you want, go for it.
  2. I want some rear 9" wheels for the banshee. I'm not real concerned if they're stock or not, I just need some wheels. Only thing, they can't be .125's, they need to be somewhat tough, .160s would probably work tho, so just let me know what you have and what you want for them. Scott
  3. Toomey T6's or FMF Fatties.

    35 pwk's

I'm dropping the price on my Mikuni Flatslide 34's to $150 shipped if that means anything.
  5. I did have problems getting it started after after a hot stall, but when I finally smartened up enough to start using the "Hot Start" lever... it fired up first kick. The kickstart lever was probably THE hardest thing to get used to. The Goki e-start is right at 5 bills. I don't know how well it works; I've heard everything from awesome to the Goki starter is nothing better than a boat anchor, so I don't know. John, that rythm and ass comment was pretty funny. I don't find the seat all that bad, but compared to a stock banshee seat, it definitely is hard, but still not near as hard as a YFZ. I might get the +1/2" foam seat for it eventually tho. Anyways, guess I've said plenty in this thread.
  6. Funny thing is, I bought mine without ever riding it. Signed the paperwork, and they're like, "you wanna ride it?" I was like ok. It was still bone ass stock and I was like, holy crap, THIS is what I bought? It was really comfortable and all, but man was it slow, especially coming off my ported banshee. But, I knew the cam and other stuff were going in, so I just bit my tongue and trusted. Thankfully, it came through. I've still got my 13:1 piston sitting here along with a couple other goodies, but I just don't feel the need to tear into it with it running as good as it does. Just to point out, I'm not saying the 450r is the fastest quad out there at all, and I'm not saying it'll beat everything. I'm just saying it is very capable of hanging right in there with the rest of them and it seems to often get a bad rap. The comments stuntboy said just kind of irritated me. Personally, I bought mine strictly for xc racing. How, when and where I race, pure speed is not near as important as overall machine capabilities, suspension, torque, and comfort. For me, the 450r excels over all other quads in those areas bar none, and that's exactly why I picked it. Remember, I said... "for me" and each person's needs in a quad are different. Later peeps.
  7. see my sig... I also have an amp in the for sale section. 850 watt Rockford.
  8. I have my 6 mos. used 850 watt Rockford Fosgate POWER series amp for sale. It's in perfect condition, but I've been changing around my system and don't have the proper setup to use it anymore. This thing just freaking pounds... If anyone is interested, I'll sell it for $125 shipped. SPECIFICATIONS: 215 Watts x 2 @ 4ohms RMS 425 Watts x 2 @ 2ohms RMS 850 Watts x 1 @ 4ohms BRIDGED RMS
  9. Your saying the 450r's are slow but "man those [400ex's] are fast". Your crazy. A 450r will put a serious whooping on a ex all day long, not too mention the R is a lot more advanced with the engine components and the suspension has much better travel. The R makes the ex look like a freaking dinasour performance-wise. The R is really detuned. Add a cam and a silencer and I promise your stock Raptor will be babyshit. And the performance aspect? CRF's are the bikes to beat, the 250r was THE quad to beat for how many years and then it went to hybrid ex's? When has any other company really had a shot at it before the factory thumper craze started? As I said:
  10. Dale, glad to hear your having at least a little fun over there. Riding in a blackhawk would definitely be something to remember. Hell, any of those rigs would be a kick. Stay safe, watch your ass and don't take any shit. I'll keep your banshee warm till you get back bro! You still haven't seen my Honda, what's up with that. Plan a ride AS SOON as you get back, maybe a Murray trip. Later.
  11. DO NOT powdercoat the inside of that. BE SURE TO COVER IT. I speak from experience.
  12. does it help or not to use the choke when cold starting? Also, be sure to check the compression before you go messing with the carbs. You could screw with the jetting to find out that's not the problem, then have two problems.
  13. are you saying you know from experience???
  14. This is my first guess. If your pilot is a little rich when it's cold. It'll start easier (basically like having the choke on), but once warm, it'll get hard to start and be similar to having the choke on while it's warm and trying to start it. Pull the choke when it's cold and try to start it, see if it's more of a problem. If so, then that just might be the ticket. consider changing it anyway, down one size to see if that helps. Scott
  15. depending on the level of lean/rich, it will act differently. Slightly lean will let it rev easier, but if it's definitely lean, it will often bog, no sputtering bog, just flat no power bog. If it's rich and it bogs, it's usually a wet sputtery bog unless it's really rich, then it'll bog somewhat flat but still kinda wet. If it bogs, kill it and check the plug. if it bogged because it's rich, the plug will be wet, if it's lean, it'll be really dry and clean. Scott
  16. Stock porting with FMF pipes, I ran a 200 main with the EEK needle. Typically, IMO, 170 to 190 is pretty typical of a piped banshee and a single 35mm carb. The EEK needle will let you come down a few sized on the main and provide better transition with the stock portwork. To me, 140 sounds kinda low, but every shee is different for sure. Scott
  17. No clue. You might try calling Sudco.com or CarbParts.com for that info. Scott
  18. ahahaha I'd love to.
  19. that kind of sounds strange. going up to 290s with just stock pipes and everything minus the lid and snorkle just doesn't sound right. I'd start looking for an air leak. Check the boots where you take the carbs out on the motor side of the carbs. Spray WD40 or Carb Cleaner or use propane gas (unlit) or something around there to see if you can find it. You should be around 230 or 240 maybe, but 300s doesn't sound right to me.
  20. I actually think that is an advantage, not a disadvantage. That's one of the things I like the best about the flywheel.
  21. yea, i think that image in your sig is a bit ridiculous. while that's a nice yfz, i surely think you can tone it down some, to like 100x100 or something.
  22. so you gonna get one?
  23. haha, no it is not.... stock for stock, i felt my ass was sitting up the highest and my upper body was sitting in down position the worst on a YFZ. I feel I'm sitting a little more upright on the Honda, along with a +2 stem, I feel my 6'2 ass sits nice and upright on the Honda. How tall are you freestyla... that makes a lot of difference between the two. Slightly smaller people, maybe under 5'10 or so like the YFZ better, taller peeps, over 6', tend to like the Honda. I personally felt cramped on the yfz with my ass in the air, didn't like it at all. Regardless, every quad needs a little "personalization". Like I had a +1 stem on the banshee for my height, and now I have a +2 stem on the Honda. I'd have put a +1 or +2 stem on the YFZ if I would've gotten one of those. As far as power on the 450, it desperately needs a silencer can and a cam. That will REALLY wake the 450 up. The YFZ already has an agressive cam, so it's like comparing a stock banshee to a piped banshee. The YFZ is already "setup" for the most part, but the Honda is heavily detuned. Hey, that's why there's so many right? To each is his own and that's what makes this great, having so many available quads. Peace out brothas.
  24. Quite often, you can have a buddy compress the spring and then you can slide the plate out really quick. Is that what your asking, or are you wanting to get into the valving?
  25. Awesome!! Now, that is what this site is about, members helping members. Glad to hear it's working to your expectations now. Like I said, FMF can make pipes, but they need to leave jetting to the rest of us. What jets did you end up pulling out of it? If you have the time and just feel like screwing with it, go ahead and throw some 310s in there and just see what it does. If it sputters a little or seems a little rich, you know how the 300s run. But, richening w/o being too rich unleashes more power. A lot of the gain with pipes is being able to jet up, so going up another main size could be another horse or so, might be worth the try. Also, where is your needle clip? If it's in the third from the top, maybe try the fourth and see how it reacts, if it's a little sputtery, back it up to the one it was in before. BUT, don't do the needle AND main changes at the same time. If you do and it gets sputtery, you may not know which did which, so do them one at a time so you get a definite before and after for each change. I'm fairly comfortable that the 300s wouldn't be too rich so if your happy with it, then no prob with leaving it alone, I'm just anal with my machines when it comes to free hp. later.
