  1. I'd get an lt250r. They are more rare, well not quite as rare as a Tecate, but their 2nd, and they're fun ass quads. I'm kinda partial to them anyway, because that was my first real quad.
  2. Switching riders is bad for my banshee's health, plus... she get's jealous if I stray.
  3. Might need to richen the pilot or something. It could have to do with the temps starting to drop, that'll lean your machine out a little, and the temps are only gonna get colder. What about your compression, checked it lately? You got your jets listed, but we don't know any of your mods. Just a few thoughts.
  4. Mine favorite thing to do on the shee is, after I've removed the carb, replacing all the little vent hoses and stuffing the little f'ers back in the slot on the swinger pivot. You know, getting my mammoth hands in there to bend them just right to do an s-curv down the front of the swinger, then into the little slot, then around the bottom.... What do you guys consider your favorite thing to do on the shee?
  5. Nah, really! I had mine at 130 and I made these aluminum wing things and I actually lifted off for about 20 feet. Pretty cool!!
  6. So, y'all talkin about this Saturday morning? What time will y'all be there??
  7. Alright, here's a pic of them on the dining room table after took the ring off and polished them. And as you can see, it's the same place I toss my hat at the end of every day.
  8. no, not really, but with all of us as a group, we know A LOT of shit!!! But thanks, and glad to help.
  9. HQ Riders Represent!!
  10. Damn, that's terrible. Sorry to hear that. It makes me cringe when I hear about an atv accident with serious or fatal injuries. I just hate it. Accidents happen, but we have a lot of help preventing injuries at our disposal, like helmets, chest protectors, boots, and there's no need to ride like that without wearing them. I've learned, from experience, that accidents can happen even more when you just hop on just to screw around for a minute or so. That's the worst time, cause you think your just playing and not seriously riding and let your guard down, not put on your helmet or some other dumb shit. I don't know what happened in that particular accident above, I just really hate to hear about it.
  11. Aaah, we'll get bitched at for something so no worries. I try being an alcoholic every night. Wheels are in. Got them out, only thing, they didn't ship the tapered lug nuts. I called and bitched at them and they're sending them free shipping. I'm still working on getting the air leak figured out. I'll probably put the intake back together tonight and get the tires swapped over tomorrow and then take a pic or two. They look good, much much thicker than I imagined they'd be. Very nice wheels indeed.
  12. I was wrong, I have a DEK. So, taper would be for 1/2 and up but a lot for 3/4 and up so I need the next richest taper, if my brain serves me right. Going from DEK to EEK would be a richer taper. Just ordered an EEK so we'll see. Guess I'll start putting it back together. Also just noticed that I put this in the Repairs when it probably shoulda been in the Jetting. Whatcha gonna do?
  13. My pleasure bro. I went to Oakley's website and ordered them through the 1-800 number, they are super easy to deal with.
  14. I will say, after I got my ass chewed a few times, I logged outta everything and changed my password. She can look, but not touch, now I will support her if she wants to get her own user id, but at least I don't look like such a dumbass. Anyway, my wheels should be here TOOOODDDAAAYYY!!! We'll see.
  15. Anyone try the new SIDI Vortex Evo? They look really comfy and were in the ATV Sport mag an issue back or so.
  16. Oakley O Frames Bar F'ing None!! I ordered mine directly from Oakley for around $30, then ordered a nice iridium lens for another $30, but you can get darker lenses for only $5. Most comfortable, best choice of lenses and very scratch resistant, but the tear-offs are easy insurance to a clean view. Once you go Oakley, nothing else comes close. They're single lens and that's all you really need. Dual lens are good for cold climates and activities like skiing or snowmobiling where the temp varies a lot. You won't need that for quads unless you live in a cold climate and ride your quad in the snow all winter.
  17. Maybe thats not a bad idea. I've actually thought about that before, and then the thought got lost in my cavernous brain. I have a DGK and if I remember right, DEK is the next skinnier needle. I'll do that, probably order one today.
  18. must be around a buck and a quarter... if it works for you, then that's all that matters. i'd get some pipes first.
  19. Let me give you a touch of history. About 8 months ago, I switched to Iridium plugs, and it ran awesome with 180 main, for about 2 months and the power started falling off and the plugs leaned. So, I jetted up a couple sizes and it took me all the way to 230 based off plug readings. About a month ago, I woke up and went back to the BR8's and a lot of the power came back, but I'm still at 230. I was hoping that after the plug change, they'd foul from the large main. They didn't, but power was stronger. The only changes that occured at that time before the power drop was the plugs, so I couldn't have affected anything. Now, once I started jetting, maybe I caused a leak at the intake boot or something but not sure. So, maybe I'll throw in some 180s just to see how it runs, but if 180s are good, I don't see how it would even run with 230s. It's still apart. The bowl screws are damn near stripped from coming in and out, so I'm going to find some allen heads for it first. IMO, the 35 isn't really hard to jet, I've had it for a year, and I had it jetted after 3 or 4 runs and dialed right in, but, maybe there's a velocity problem. Hopefully my porting will take care of that. So, what should I do, just put the damn shit back together and cross my fingers I guess.
  20. That's how i've been dealin with it for the last 6 months or so. But, I'm plannin on a port job and possibly a long rod kit this winter. Then what, only thing to do is to start drillin jets, and that sucks. Can't believe I'd have to drill jets just for a port job.
  21. 2 years old, a tad too young, though his powerwheels is awfully cool.
  22. i've been avoiding a leakdown, but it maybe looming ahead. compression is currently 150 and holds good. if the right crank seal was out, my tranny oil would be seeping down, and if the left side was out, oil would be coming out behind the flywheel and neither is happening, plus one side generally smokes differently than the other, which isn't happening. yeah, the stuff in the tract definitely seems to be paint... just thought it was weird, didn't remember that either.
  23. Powercore and Titanium are probably very similar and will be louder than the Turbine.
  24. First dibs on the swinger and pegs/controls. Details please? Is it a stock cut, if so who did it? Finish? Pics? Pm me if need be and my email is [email protected] if you wanna just mail me the pics. Scott EDIT: Sorry, thought you were parting it out. First dibs on the stuff if you part it.
