  1. good question... I'm thinkin that it might not let the back plate seat properly if not put in right, but.... hey are there torque specs on back plate screws?? There's nothing in the directions about it, but i thought i'd ask anyway...just in case...
  2. stay inside where it's cool, and download all the porn you can....
  3. thanks Jeff... I didn't wanna call for something little like this....Your busy enough as it is... thanks again.. oh and by the way, i got the clutch basket....she's almost too purdy to hide behind the clutch cover..
  4. i removed the gear from the stock cluth basket, and didnt realize there was a washer between the two(it fell off when i took the gear off the basket.... which way does this washer sit on the gear? Does the outer diameter face up, like in the first picture(on the left) or face down towards the gear, like in the picture on the right?
  5. it's been that way for over a year....they started charging presidents days 04. are you guys running on comp hill or across from it?
  6. if it is a stuck float, just tap on the out side of the float bowl with a the handle end of a screwdriver a few times. That should knock it loose.
  7. what ever happened to those two sets Minkia had? Wasn't he gonna use one and sell the other??....

  10. not that it's a bad idea, but....... From what i've read about past trips, most guys are willing to pick up another member, and their bike, even if it means stopping off along the way... check out the old rootfest post, and the one where those guys back east tossed their bikes in a semi trailer. Seems like most on here are pretty generous, and willing to lend a hand when needed....
  11. Well naturally, but he was asking bout the Titan....If he had said "what truck should i get?" that woulda been a different story I love the hell outta my ol Dodge. She's no Cummins, and only gets 8 city, 9 highway, but how many of us bought 4 bys for gas milage?....
  12. good friend of mine has an 04 Titan quad cab with the "off road" package. It's actually a pretty nice ride...roomy interior. lotta get up and go under the hood, tows fairly well. The stock E-lockers are a nice touch too. The only thing i didn't like about it, is the fact that you can't close the tailgate with a bike in the back(Z400)..other then that, it's a really nice truck!....i think wallrat has one ....
  13. Are they drilled out for the idle screws already? How do the threads, that the cap screws onto, look?...not stripped or cross threaded are they? does the choke work? <don't have to manually hold it out do you send me a few pics of the them to [email protected]
  14. the first pic is of the out side of the insert. the 2nd is where it slides into the frame and here's one of the back side of the insert, with part of the broiken bolt still in it.
  15. it's the front. .. I thought about what you suggested, but there's a "washer" looking deal attached to the insert that sits outside the frame. i guess it's a spacer so the foot peg bolts up straight. (it's a one piece insert, not welded) the OD of the part that slides into the frame is about 3/4", and the OD of the washer about an inch/inch and a 1/4. I know what your saying though....i guess if i cant get an OE insert, i could just weld a piece of stock in the whole in the frame and just use a regular washer on the out side....thanks for the help. lemme try the pics this way, just for kicks....
  16. it's pretty basic, but good info.... sandrail.com <linky
  17. long story short, i broke off the head of a foot peg bolt, leaving the rest of the bolt sunk inside the hole. I tried an easy out, and broke that off too. I tried everything, but had to resort to grinding the weld off the threaded washer insert to get it out. I need a new insert, but this isnt a replacable piece. ( i checked out Ronnies before posting this) Anyone happen to have an old mangled frame laying around that they're willing to take this piece out of, and sell it?? here's a few pictures of the insert, and frame. back side of threaded insert w/ broken bolt! front view of threaded insert! where insert sits in the frame! ^ all these are clickable links
  18. i give it two months (tops) and she'll be rattling like her ol self again.... that kits is worthless. Mine started ratting again a month after having it on..
  19. but it's a dry heat!!!!! hahah i love that one....... we were 2 days shy of breaking the above 110 degree mark.... old record was 10 days in a row back in the 60's... we hit 117 on Tuesday and Wednesday. Just glad i was working inside this past week. This isn't even our hottest month..cant wait to see what Aug brings..
  20. i know what you mean about the heat...116 the past couple days here, and hasn't been below 110 this past week...but it's a DRY HEAT...yeah right dry heat... keep hydrated! Stay safe! and quick return home!!!
  21. seriously though.... Just because he has pics of you doin "stunts" doesnt really mean anything...If you were questioned by the police, you could always say that he had asked you to take the bike out and do some wheelies and stuff so he could send the pics to his kids, grandkids...cause they like mototcycles.... either way i'd lay low for a while just in case he did turn over those pictures. You never know if the cops have an undercover car staked out...<i doubt they'd go to that extreme, but u never know...
  22. I doubt he's gonna turn you in...... He's prolly an editor for Dirt Wheels, or better yet, one of the guys from the H bomb crew, and wants to make u famous i'd get out there right now and show em your skills !!!
  23. There's definitely PLENTY of ad space
  24. not only do they make some of the best Mt bike out there, but do you how many companys started off "small" turning out bigger and better things.....that bike was way a head of its time.... I have a friend that stored his in my garage for a few months. I used it quite often(brought it out everytime i took the banshee out). Except for a few "upgrades" front rear suspension, and some tweeking to the EFI, it was basicly a stock bike...handling and comfort...A+, get up and go..B-/C+, parts available a big fat F- !! and that would be the only reason i wouldn't buy one(used)... well that and the resale price most owners are trying to recoup from the initial investment...
  25. I'll 5th that..... got my clutch stuff from him a couple weeks ago, and just sent my cylinders out to him today!... Answers PM's in the blink of an eye...and will stop what he's doin to answer all your questions over the phone.... someone give me a thumbs up smiley!
