for a new shee, i'd stick to what the manual sais till it's broken in. when i got my '01 new, it was 24:1. i still run yamalube 2-r at 32:1 without any problems. after break-in, you have about a zillion oil mix options. do a search here and you'll get LOTS of opinions.

yeah man. there's no easy way out of this one.

dude, that won't work it will still be confined by chain guides, the front of the swingarm, the frame, etc. if there's no masterlink, you'll need to just pick any spot on the chain easy to get to, and grind off the rivets and pop out that link to get it apart. if done carefully, you can go to the stealership and get masterlink to put it back together if you are reusing it. just give them the make and size, which is usually stamped on the plates of the chain. otherwise just grind the shit out of it, and pull it apart. and definitely replace chain and sprockets as a set if any are worn/damaged.

yeah i guess i lucked out timing wise. i'd heard rocky mtn was was out of stock for a while, then had gotten some in. looked it up, and they were in stock, about a week later, out of stock. timing is everything i guess.

talking gas prices with trucks got me thinking about the shee. $12 for 5 gal of 94 gas, and $7.50 for a qt of 2-r, of which about 3/4 is used. so it looks like about $17 for 5 gal of shee gas. just curious what everyone pays for more expensive oil and higher gas prices combined, in different areas. 'gotta pay to play' is becoming more and more appropriate, but it ain't gonna slow me down any

between my wife and i, we spent a little over $2700 in gas in '04. i'm sure '05 will be a tad more oh well, we're not gonna stop living just cuz gas has gone up. may combine some errand running and things, but that's about it. heck, i'd still like to drop a 455 in my firebird, and a 454 in my blazer gotta pay to play, as always!

yeah, you hate to tell a friend no, but damn that kind of shit gets old! 90% of the time when something of mine got broken, it was someone else that did it. so i put an end to the lending deal long ago. those situations can turn a good friendship sour too.

i recently replaced mine with a tusk kit. working great so far. i knew it needed replaced, but i didn't realize just how much my shee was slipping till i redid it. i've heard nothing but good things about tusk products, and the clutch kit was only about $35 from rocky mtn.

i have a full size 93 blazer, 350. yeah is sucks the gas down, about 12-14 mpg, but i will never have another little truck again. had an s-10 with a 2.5l. it barely pulled itself up a hill much less with my banshee on the back. i guess it depends on what you want it for, if your gonna do any towing/hauling. my blazer is my 4x4, family vehicle, and powerhouse all in one. serves any purpose. i wouldn't be happy with anything smaller, even if it did save me $$ on gas.

full hinson set up - $900 my set up - about $600 less started going big with hinson, then found you had to use their 8 plate set up to use all their components. already had the basket on hand, ordered the rest after learning more about how much it would set me back in the end. if my next inspection deems it necessary, i'm gonna break down and finish it out with all hinson parts.

that's nuts trail rider. there's one in every crowd! my one buddy is always breaking down when we're out because of shit like this.

that' what i thought too. i noticed mine hangin up as soon as i took off on it. turned around and headed back to the garage rather than roast my pads and rotor. if your rotor's grooved, replace it and new pads together. clean out the caliper and drop some new fluid in there and bleed it out. make sure that the mounting bracket on the caliper is pressed back in also. that's what was dragging on mine rather than the caliper hanging up.

Craftsman - 150psi - 30 gal -5hp - 6 star rating - works great for my garage! keeps up with air tools just fine, mostly my 1/2" impact. oil free model, without any problems. Craftsman's insurance deal is bring it in for an inspection once a year and they'll replace anything damaged free of charge.

south central pa here... i mostly ride right around home, imler-blue knob area. mostly trails, and all around the surrounding farms

lol. i did that too, but with a heat gun. stress marks are inevitable, especially with the blue. i got tired of doing it and just let some of them go. they are still minor though, and not from a roll over or crash or anything, just slightly faded. it adds character to her!!
