  1. thanks mike i was wondering what the hell that was..........im allways looking for a close shave, im gonna go ahead and give those a try.....
  2. You saw right through that. I don't know about 'forget' but hopefully forgive. I hate it when stuff doesn't work right, particularly on a riding trip. You could have been a jerk about this, understandably, but you weren't. I appreciate that. -David im still waiting for my new noss stickers...and my o-rings for my leaking head......im sure its the mailman though cause davids all over this kinda shit.....

  7. damm jim i picked up that 79 cb too it had dualoverhead cams.....i traded a kid a set of drums for it..........man my 78 ss was sweet that black and kinda burnt orange..i had a kirker 4 into one header man that fucker made some good noise......i even sported the 500 four for a while....those were damm decent bikes...remember when an expansion chamber was allways a down pipe, no one made a up pipe like they do today........shit Jim were pretty old fellas
  8. LOL naw...... I kinda fucked up my knees when I wrecked my banshee a year and a half ago, when they took out the handle bars. The 2 things I wish I could have done different is BAILED OFF the damn bike, and had some decent shin/knee guards on. I can still lift heavy and everything, but I don't know if my knees can take a shock like jumping. At least not with stock shocks very well. I can afford knee guards (I think) but I can't get after market shocks yet. I guess I'll find out. Who knows, maybe I'll do ok. when in doubt Stan just bail the f*ck off.....last thing you wanna do is tie up with that big heavy pig.....ive replaced so much shit on my quads, but learned early on if your any where near that fucker its gonna find you......my right knee's shitty too..... i cased a jump on my CR years ago, ever since then i just bail, f*ck it, parts are cheap compared to my ass.....and i allways gotta go to work the next day
  9. shit jim you had a chevelle? you probally saw more butt than a toliet seat in that car........my first car was a honda cb-750-f....super sport....a few years later the sweet ass RD-400 like you have......a RD-250 with coffman down pipes......then came the flyin kawi 750 triple...i traded that to a buddy for his crashed kz-1000 cop bike.....then at about 21 years of age i finnally got a car...my moms mint 64 chevy belair......
  10. awwww i remeber those days we had a high school motocross team and used to race at saddleback park in orange county california.....damm that was ages ago......now im raceing a frickin four wheel pig, but the SOB flies.......first half green bike i had was that elsinore...damm aluminum tanks...dual rear shocks.....gaylin moisure lived up the street ..wild bill coty racing speedway lived around the corner and rick woods another speedway racer, scraped my briggs and stratton for a honda 50 engine on my mini bike.....the band Steppen Wolf practiced in a garage up the street.......garden grove california was smokin in the late 60's early 70's.....one of the neighbors was in the Hells Angels...my older brother had the worlds record in his class for a Chevy 302 Nova...shit and here my kids riding a new CR-85....and bitches about mowin the lawn........damm how times have changed........
  11. just go buy a cheap oem chain for 25 bucks...its lighter your bike will coast a hell of a lot better, youll notice a bit more power......get rid of the stock oring pig...adding a second master links not a great idea...and you cant add one link it has to be two.......1 link is not possible every other link is a master weither a pressed link or a removable master....well theres a half link.....
  12. Cat mini bike in 1965.then a Yamaha 60 mini enduro...then a yamaha 90 mx.....then a 125 enduro with a pipe...then in 1973, the full on killer Honda 125 elsinore....
  13. ive noticed us seasoned indo puffers ALLWAYS roll fatties, all that air with your THC makes you, well lets say not the sharpest tool in the shed...........
  14. Stan allways has the best advice, i had a similar problem once, he was dead on with his "throw a match in the gas tank" tip..........
  15. i'll go the other way...the deltas will wake the bottom end of her up, way crisper throttle response thats for sure.....horsepower wise who knows, but you will feel them more than a timing advance, at least i did on both my shee's.....major builders like the deltas over ported cages also......ask some of them, we can all voice our opinions forever.......id hit up a builder who knows his shit and ask him......cause they aint cheap......i think porting your cages is like fliping your rims instead of an axle...its the poor mans way to go..and im about to catch some major shit, but its been a long day so bring it on......
  16. Rod did they say it was for a 6 bolt hub?......good find i looked high and low and could only find a 40 in the 6 bolt pattern.....who makes them?
  17. thanks rod..i could post the old auction # if that will help also......
  18. i found it on ebay nyuk, yes it came in the cooler just like you see it.....i got 2 of them for 75 bucks each...its a shock proof gage...ill look at my paypal account and get ya the info.....
  19. your right that is camber...1/8 inch over all is good, depends on what kinda riding you do...
  20. does it even run with stock carbs?....i couldnt even guess for you....try 33 or 34 mm carbs if its stroked and drag ported............ its gonna want to see some fuel...and air for that matter.........no point porting it that fat with the stock carbs.....if you do get it to run with the stockers, you will have a lot of untapped power sitting there.....id look for the tallest mains you can find till you get your new carbs, maybe even reach down and pull the choke when you wanna haul ass....
  21. i think your talking about castor....camber is how much your tires are leaning into the bike a good 1/8 between both tires is fine......castor wise....-4.5 for mx and as much as -6 for high speed open riding, depending on your swingarm.......camber, just give yourself a good 16th on each wheel at about 60mph they will spread to zero...as you accellerate...when you make these adjustments use a pair of tiedowns from your grab bar to handle bars......that will help you remove the slop from your tie rods...done right you can let go of the bars at the top of 6th and still track straight with no shimmy....remember -camber is the tire leaning into the the bike...-castor is the top of the knuckle leaning back twards the back of the bike..and you realize that the upper forward adjustment on your aarms is the castor adjust its not in the ball joint, you need to turn it out to get castor you will see the top of the knuckle(or spindle) moving back, camber you can get from the upper ball joint, as the top of tire moves in the camber decreases creating negative camber....positive camber would be if the top of the tires move outwards past dead "plumb" use a level standing tall against your tire and rim to get the same thing on both sides..and read that link it will help you understand......
  22. Sounds like a business opp. if i wasnt so busy workin id probally go for it.....
  23. i should hook it up to a keg and get it flowing it would make a cool pic........that would be sweet going out to the dunes and tapping a cold one off a banshee......
