    First Mx

Congrats on the first race. Sounded like fun for you. Long travel is not necessarily needed unless you got the dough to spend. Plain ol' +2+1 or +2+2 will work great with a nice set of shocks setup for your weight/ability/kind of riding. Keep racin and good luck in the future! Bob

    Race Tonite!

Well....I sucked it up. After practice before the race my wrist was killing me again so I pretty much just took it easy. I took 2nd last in both motos of about 10 riders. I was passing and being passed quite a bit but by the 5th lap I was pretty much just hangin on and hitting the throttle. I had no strength left to do anything spectacular. It's been about a month now since I've ridden on the track and having a broken wrist really didn't help much. I'm hella sore today and am just kinda laying around watching movies. So now it's time to start training again and get back into shape for racing. Gonna practice every day I can and see what that gets me. Catch ya guys later. Bob Ah yes the clutch. Clutch works great now. I'm so glad I changed it.

    Race Tonite!

Just sittin here getting ready to head out to my first race of the season tonite. Gates at 3; Practice at 4:30; Racing at 6! I'm so psyched. I just wish time would be goin a little faster so I don't have to be freakin out for this long. Wish me luck. Later Bob
  4. Is there someplace I could buy a half link for my chain? When I hacked it up for my -2.5" swingarm the chain just barely isn't long enough for a 15t front sprocket which I have and would like to try to use sometime.
  5. TRUTH! You need to empty your pm box man. I keep tryin to pm you....
  6. Cause I love having gas all over my lap.
  7. Nice....Mines stock 96 top end with a .030 milled head and its 150 exact both cylinders also.
  8. I'll try messin with the petcock once. I still have the fuel filters on it so maybe those are blocked. It looks as though its getting enough fuel when I look at the lines though. Also, I checked my reeds and they are fine yet. So now more work tomorrow!
  9. LOL...good ol cereal box gaskets! Gotta love them...No I didn't take my head off this winter. I was thinking about the reeds being shot. I was gonna ask about that next cause I just got compression check and it's 150 on each cylinder. If I knew what a leakdown test was, maybe I could do it, but til then, I'll check the reeds...Better not be ruined, those were new carbon fiber reeds!
  10. Is there one where the people tie you up in a tree and hit you with bats trying to get candy?
  11. I'm gonna put some votes in for Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Half Baked, Spaceballs, Goodburger, Dumb and Dumber, and the excellent collection of Laurel and Hardy DVD box sets.
  12. I haven't check yet... The head gasket too I was gonna look at. You think that could be it?
  13. Before I tear my engine apart....I was ridin the other day for about 5 minutes, all sudden it just bogs down real bad, has power, but barely. Didn't really notice anything, let it sit for a couple days. Drove around earlier, did the same. Changed the carbs (I had stocks on, I put my new 28mm on) and checked for spark just to make sure. Then changed plugs to be on the safe side. New carbs, new plugs, and still spark. Changed the fuel lines to some new stuff and tried again. Ran fine for not even a minute and blah, did it again. It's only running on the left side. I dunno what else to check. So before I start ripping stuff out, anything else I could check on or double check on?
  14. Ahh nobody cares! Hope you got something to fun roll for your bday.
  15. No tire is gonna be perfect for all around. Best bet would be holeshots or razrs, somethin along those lines, if you want something for mud, snow, sand, realtors arent bad, somethin for grass, dirt, gravel, somethin like holeshots and razrs...just check around for best prices and whatever you like
  16. I like reading Dennis "Ketchup" Cox's Wideopen section in Dirtwheels. That guy tells it how it is. Everything he says always makes sense, and he bashes those stupid magazines or television shows that say all the stupid shit about atv's and their use and how they kill so many people.
  17. Mine's a little bit more than 2. About -2.5" It's insane on power delivery.
  18. YES! Just like that...What'd you cut it with?
  19. When I take my clutch case off, can I cut a hole behind the clutch case insert so I can adjust the clutch without taking the entire case off? Theres the rubber o-ring type thing behind the stock clutch insert. Would that be enough to hold the oil with a hole in the actual case? Bob
  20. Just installed an EBC heavy duty clutch on my shee. It's adjusted so the arrows line up and such but even with the lever pulled all the way in it creeps forward. I have the little screwey deal on the clutch perch is just about all the way out to make the cable tighter. Am I gonna have to adjust it from inside the actual clutch to fix it? Bob
  21. Ride your ass off...That's a good way to prepare. When you're on the track, don't hold onto the handlebars very tight cause that'll cause arm pump real quickly. Make sure everything is in working order...all bolts are tight, all tires are pumped correctly, etc. Other than that rock on!
  22. My prom is this next Saturday, I'm missing it cause there's a race At least I got my priorities straight....Still probably doin some parties afterwards though.
  23. Good luck finding Elkas with piggybacks for 500 bux. Maybe you can find them used or somethin....I paid 525 for mine, just regular plain Elka shocks with 0 preload. No rez. You can always get them converted to remote rez though, which is what I'll probably be doing in the near future.
  24. Does putting the stock silencers on the fattys throw the performance way down?
