  1. Yeah....I'll be there for sure! Anyone going let me know.
  2. Sunday should work for me at Haspin since it will be good weather that day.
  3. Saw it this morning while combing through ebay and laughed like a school girl when I read that ad. He must have "raced" what he thought was a Banshee and it wasn't. 400s are fun, but I wouldn't call them racers. The ad wreaks of BS. First off the engine looks stock.
  4. Not sure if I'll go or what I'll bring for riding. The Banshee is not the best mudder I have ever owned. Rain Friday night into Saturday is what they are calling for. We'll see.
  5. My favorite, and this is not a biggie but a bad one: when you go to a restaurant and use your debit card and sign for the tip. If the server doesn't like what you tip them they change the charge out to what they want. Typically you can call the restaurant and report it and get it fixed, but it pisses me off to see it happen.
  6. You could hear the flywheel spinning or something like it from the left side of the motor. A repair shop not far from there had a spare one and it saved the day.
  7. One way would be to do a google search on Toomey's pipes.
  8. Contact these people: http://www.wurthusa.com/project/en/leftnav...s/products.html I have used their inserts for years on my MXers and am nothing but happy with their products.
  9. Careful...I ain't sayin' its great. It isn't as nearly bad as a lot of other stock systems I have seen.
  10. I'd be all over that deal. Hell, those things are fun to ride too if you want to keep it. Save your Banshee wear and tear. I have seen those things sell on average for that year around 5K. Check Ebay and see what they auction off at.
  11. At the place I bought ours the owner has an 87 in mint condition by looks, but a lot of hours on the clock. He told me to get used to the bike for about 50 hours or so and then figure out what you want to do with it and come up with a plan on how to get there. A lot of ways to go with these things. Their strength seems to be converting them to drag bikes, but I won't go that direction with it. The exhaust is okay for a stock system and if all you do is trail ride it might be all you need. The T5 system is said to be the best bang for the buck though and also I have been told to get 28mm Mik carbs to put on and an exhaust for the kind of riding that thing will eventually see.
  12. Buy two. Keep one in a box to use as a test box. Use the other to replace the bad one. It will be expensive at first, but you can test a coil, you can test a stator, but a CDI is something you can't really test. Don't want to buy two new ones? Buy a used one that works to keep on hand and a new one to put on your buggie.
  13. What to do with a quad? Get a jack and put it under the rear swing arm and spin the tires and look for bent axles. See if the brakes are spongy. How hard is it to put it in first/neutral,second.... a good test to do on any two stroke is to put it in first and see if it rolls easy: if it does the compression is poor and you will need to rebuild the top end. Check the plugs. Make sure it is cold when you see how many kicks it takes to get it started. Due dilligence will help you to determine it's real value. 1800 sounds reasonable, but not if it needs work.
  14. This is one of the great wonders of a two stroke. A friend of mine that raced factory Maicos way back in the day said on occasion the timing would get messed up and it would backfire and run in reverse. A motoplat ignition solved all the problems the stock ignition was plagued with. The motor doesn't depend on which direction of rotation to run, it gets vacuum either direction. Either it is the CDI has failed or the stator plate is loose and the timing is way off. First check the plate (its cheaper to do that) then if that checks out okay go for the higher ticket item CDI.
  15. I'm on my first one and love it. You'll get into it.
  16. Yeah, wide open running would lean it right out. Death for sure on a two stroke. Four stroke it has a chance of only bogging down and dying out or just cutting off.
  17. Did a search on the forums for an answer to this question, but I saw this morning a Banshee running a 2 into 1 exhaust system and it didn't sound half bad but what is the advantage to running one of these besides less weight?
  18. The ghetto thugs are really going to get into those. For the law biding citizens who need protection I am all for it.
  19. I financed the TTR. The 500 was a positive balance versus what was owed on it.
  20. I rode a Banshee with one just prior to buying this one I have now. Didn't like it. The push kind is easier for me on the wrist and really, the Banshee has a lot of motor just waiting to get away from you. The worst part of the ride was hitting the whoops on an MX track. I about fell off the ass end of it. Granted, their was still snow on the ground at the time so I wouldn't get too badly racked up, it scared me all the same. Stick to what you got. IMHO.
  21. You might want to retard the timing a degree or two if running top end a lot is your cup of tea.
