  2. It depends what size rear tires. I run 15/41 on my 521 serval but it has 22" rears.
  3. Do a compression test. I think you should be over 90 psi. If not, then it’s time to replace. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
  4. Anybody have porting templates for sale wanting to a trail port myself?

  7. The most common spot are the cylinder base gaskets, reed gaskets, carburetor boots, or the crank seals. If your Banshee starts up and idles then you can check the top end with just a can of starting fluid and spray around the cylinder base gaskets, around the reed gaskets and carburetor boots. The starting fluid will find the leak in those areas and with the engine idling it will let you know where the leak is. For the crank seals you will need to do a leak down test. You can go to YouTube South Texas Banshee and look for Banshee leak down test or you can contact him at SouthTexasBanshee.com he sells a leak down test kit or you can build your own with a few items that can be purchased at your local hardware store, Home Depot or Lowes.
  8. If my banshee has an air leak where are the main points where the leak happens and what to do to fix that problem? Will a full gasket replacement solve it? TIA
  9. Please disregard this wanted post. I found a donor banshee and I will probably have a ton of parts for sale. So I will post an update in a couple of days with a list everything that’s for sale.

  11. Thanks for the response and I laughed really hard at “it’s a banshee not a jet-ski” Lol. I swear I have said that before. The trails i ride on are the kind you either need a side by side, a dirtbike, or a 4x4 yes. Today I am gonna put the 25 pilots back in and see what happens because I’ve never tried them with the lid on. I am also looking to upgrade to a proflow filter but not k&n
  12. Back in February of this year I purchased my 05 Banshee. It’s basically stock other than the Toomey T5’s, Toomey perfect jet kit and a Pro Design pro flow filter kit with the K&N filter and Outerwear that was installed by the previous owner. My elevation here is roughly 800 ft above sea level and my outside temperature varies from 50 degrees and can go up to 90 degrees depending on the time of year. I also heard that humidity can play an huge role and can affect the jetting as well. I have stock carbs with the TORS deleted by the previous owner. I was given the extra 270 & 290 main jets if I needed them for later down the road. So right now I have 280 main jets with stock pilots, clip is on the 4th groove on the Toomey needle and my air screw is at 1.5 turns out. I also use 95 octane ethanol free gas with a 32:1 mixture. I ride in a mix of terrain that is dusty, a little bit of mud and a couple of shallow water crossings which are anywhere from about 6”- 18” inches deep depending on the rain fall in the area. I avoid really deep water( it’s a Banshee not a Jet Ski ) and I don’t fly through the water crossings either because I don’t run a lid on my air box, but I do use a Outerwear that is dust proof and water repellent on my K&N filter and I don’t have any problems with the filter setup, but before I do anything I check the filter & Outerwear to make sure that everything is clean, tight and in working condition before I do any kind of riding. From what I read on here in some of the really old posts that they are saying that the stock air filter setup is completely garbage and that it should be the first modification that should be done when buying a new Banshee. How muddy are the trails that you ride on ? Are they the type of trails that you need a 4x4 quad to ride on ?

  14. Can I put Yfz 450 front calipers on a j arm banshee?
  15. I always had AC Pro Pegs.. I don't think they make them anymore. These looks pretty nice.. https://www.ebay.com/itm/164391962291?fits=Make%3AYamaha&itmmeta=01HXQ0H6FAPF8VR39QNAK9JKBT&hash=item26468646b3:g:pmsAAOSwsB9WDB~S&itmprp=enc%3AAQAJAAAA8B%2BiDDe343roRuo7GWwpTsNUTgaYFf4MxezyG%2Bw6S2xGe8X5F8mW6jkVWCLkXq0hPDDVD2uXOa5W7r%2FLTVHkcwqq9Fuv2Kv%2FojzkBkx1trd8bfz49b4KpAEwq44WNhAB%2BU5drEQmAw9HmUoseZNPmtVUv85Yb06mWYPlDgOObd2JlTweM3fGco4TUKYNPPoHQ8rpr%2B1qoPs2YMfFpsS5pGJDTC%2F65RbR8iokP2vqZZtM%2FQqNqmV8axe07mNzEpBTkX0%2B2Qp%2Fmz6S1OMGimedvTIyfgkkmJUvX%2Bq6Zii1oMuaQgMmlX3pGUEs3OtpUsmZ9A%3D%3D|tkp%3ABk9SR97nxODtYw
  16. No Problem my issues with Alba etc are just built to a lower standard Like look behind their heelguard the main pipes bend ends in the middle of nowhere doesn't end nice and clean on the subframe tab to add a little of reinforcement. Same with no Tube under the expansion chambers to join the two front sections of the bars together. You are adding a lot more pressure on the footpeg mounts of the frame. XFR doesn't have this issue because they spent a little more designing the bars to work with the mounting points of the frame but your heel guards are now closer on the XFR's to the kick starter and you will need to change your style of kicking to just using your heel especially if you are wearing boots or you wont be able to kick it over. If you want no issues, the best fitment out of the box and most durable bars for the banshee there isn't really a better option than the 43's.
  17. The extended ears for the caliper mount on the spindle and the lack of countersink on the hub for the rotor bolts tells me you for sure have the early stuff.
  18. Never had the lid on with 30’s. And I ride some dusty/muddy trails. I tried running without the lid but my air filter was covered in dust after 1 ride so I wanna keep that to a minimum
  19. Hi i need some advice, I took off my exhaust to polish them and decided to have a look at the pistons and noticed that on the one piston. Do you guys have any advice if it’s safe or not or is it time to replace them. I feel very skeptical about it but I’m not a mechanic. IMG_3844.mov
  20. When you had the 30 pilots in did you ever try it with the air box lid on ? What type of riding conditions are you riding in that requires the air box lid ?
  21. The picture of the J-arm spindle / knuckle that you posted “ IS “ for the model year 87-89 which requires part # 1UY-23501-01-00 Left Side & 1UY-23502-01-00 Right Side. Then for the A-arm spindle / knuckle for the model year 90-06 which requires part # 3GD-23501-10-00 Left Side & 3GD-23502-10-00 Right Side. Here is a picture of what the spindle / knuckle looks like for the 90-06 Banshee. The picture that I posted is from a 1997 Banshee that Im currently working on for a friend. If you look the picture that you posted and compare it to the picture that I posted you can definitely see the difference between the spindles. I also circled the caliper bracket bolts in my picture to show how the spacing is different from the 87-89 Banshee in your photo and the 90-06 Banshee that is in the photo that I posted. 22. I have 2003 Triple Ported Athena Cylinders, Stock bore, Stock Head no domes, Ethanol free Gas 32:1, Full Toomey 5’s, Stock Carbs with Toomey Needles, stock intake, stock reeds. Stock airfilter and airbox. I want to use the lid but NO snorkel. I do NOT want to drill holes in my airbox. My elevation is 1000ft and temp is 70+ degrees on average lately. Right now I’m running 270 Main, 27.5 pilot 1.5 turns out, 4th clip on Toomey Needle(6 slots). When I ride it now it feels like it stops pulling towards the top end almost like a flat spot 3/4 to WO throttle. When I had 30 pilots in here with no airbox lid this thing would wheelie in every gear but where I ride I need an airbox lid. What do you guys think on my jetting?
  23. Can anyone verify if I have the 87-89 spindles? I would hate to buy the 87-89 brake calipers just to find out later that the spindle has been changed to the 90-06 style.
  24. Im just here to say hi to jerrod. Just to find out its only 250 ...not bigred350X I think 89 stuff was only the same a few years tho &OG's right ...wc or redo are good choices
  25. @Fearnot Thank you for the info about the Factory 43 nerf bars. I’ll have to look into them. I haven’t bought anything yet.
