jerod187 Posted June 25, 2008 Report Posted June 25, 2008 hey just started to look at my bike after i installed the YFZ arms and kfx shocks and if you look at the tires the bottom sticks out a little bit like theyre on a angle almost any ideas why this would be? like i mean theyre not straight up and down the on a angle Quote
banshee404 Posted June 26, 2008 Report Posted June 26, 2008 (edited) Before work bump idk im not good with alignment but is the camber adjustable if you cant figure it out just take it to get aligned im sure it wont cost much Edited June 26, 2008 by banshee404 Quote
dragbanshee Posted June 26, 2008 Report Posted June 26, 2008 I think the yfz got a slight angle to them, about how much are you talkin about? I dont think there is any adjustment on those so they should be ok. Can you post some pics? Quote
jerod187 Posted June 26, 2008 Author Report Posted June 26, 2008 I went with thee KFX 400 shocks because i want it the bike to sit higher i dont wantit to be lower then stock for the riding i do, and i got themf or free from my buddy so it just kinda worked out, and here a link to a few pics but im not sure how good you can see the tires http://s37.photobucket.com/albums/e91/jerod187/ Quote
jerod187 Posted June 26, 2008 Author Report Posted June 26, 2008 in this picture you can kinda see how its slanted http://s37.photobucket.com/albums/e91/jero...nt=S4020669.jpg Quote
lilmegill727 Posted June 26, 2008 Report Posted June 26, 2008 adjust the ball joints on the a-arms. Quote
okbeast Posted June 26, 2008 Report Posted June 26, 2008 adjust the ball joints on the a-arms. if you look at the pic you'll notice they're non-adjustable, i'm hoping he could have figured that out himself. it almost looks like it's sitting like that b/c of the longer shock, do you have a different set just to try? Quote
sliderbkt Posted June 26, 2008 Report Posted June 26, 2008 I have YFZ arms also. My left on is straight, but my right front has a ltittle negative camber. I haven't messed with it yet though. Quote
jerod187 Posted June 26, 2008 Author Report Posted June 26, 2008 So you think its just beacause of the longer shocks? and no i dont ahve another shock to try except maybe the stockers! is there anything i can try adjusting Quote
LIM_Whiteboy4life Posted June 26, 2008 Report Posted June 26, 2008 all you have to do is get adjustable upper A-arms but the camber helps some in cornering since tires will big sidewalls "fold" but with some camber the tire doesnt fold onto the sidewall = more front grab.... but there is such a thing as too much camber. YFZ arms normally do that anyway... what happens when you put parts on a quad that its not built for hope this helps  Quote
Michael Jackson Posted June 26, 2008 Report Posted June 26, 2008 .. but there is such a thing as too much camber. YFZ arms normally do that anyway... what happens when you put parts on a quad that its not built for exactly, those arms are designed for a yfz frame, the front end geometry is obvisouly nowhere near the same on the banshee, although ive never seen a 450 front end on a banshee with that much camber in, some camber is good, helps cornering, but thats just too much, somethin aint right there Quote
dragbanshee Posted June 27, 2008 Report Posted June 27, 2008 Like okbeast said try some other shocks I'd put your stockers back on and see. Quote
banshee404 Posted June 27, 2008 Report Posted June 27, 2008 it seems he want to sit high though stockers are gonna make it sit just as low as with the yfz shocks Quote
