Buddy's stock yfz 450 vs banshee

I've ridden a stock Raptor 700, and a YFZ450 with a GYT-R pipe, and neither of them felt fast at all to me. Maybe it's just the way the Banshee's powerband hits, but most of the 4 strokes I've ridden just didn't have that same "dump you on your ass if you're not careful" feel that the Banshee has. The only 4 stroke I've been truly impressed with is the YZ426 that I thought about trading my shee for.

 

If those 450's are fast, they sure don't feel like it.

I completely agree with been said, Banshee's are a beast, thats why we all own one (most of us). It just pisses me off when some punk ass kid comes on here spewing all this bullshit nonsense. "whats wrong with the banshee or are the 450's that fast". Get over it, banshees can be beaten. It seems like the people that are most arrogant are the ones that have pieces of shit banshees that are not tuned and have set of beat up FMF's. People that KNOW quads know that 450's can be fast if they are set up right, JUST LIKE BANSHEE's. O'YA, they dont have same feel as the banshee's powernband because they MAKE power all the way through.

 

With that said, you CAN make a banshee faster than a 450, no question about it. But 450's deserve respect, thats all I am trying to say.

in that video, the banshee got off the line better. It's usually the banshee spinning off the line while the 450 hooks up better and goes. Then it's a game up catch up.

I've been pretty impressed with the power the 4-strokes are capable of these days, it took an equal amount of mods for my shee to hang with my brothers piped and filtered yfz. Stock for stock the yfz would take the shee every time in any race. I'll give props to the 450's but I'd like to see a naturally aspirated one that will hang with my shee now. Mod for mod you'll get more out of a 2-stroke for now, but the day is drawing near that the 4-strokes will be making the same kind of gains.

2 - strokes always "feel" faster, even if they aren't, no doubt about that.

 

This argument will never be settled because EVERYONE has seen some 4 strokes wax some Banshees, but they've also seen some Banshees (bolt on) wax some 4-strokes. If both are equal riders, with both engines in a good state of tune with correct gearing, tires ,etc.; I believe the Banshee will always win.

 

BUT what you see alot of times is bad riders (most common), bad state of tune, wrong gearing, wrong tires, etc, on some of these that makes the race favor one or the other. Just my experience.

First off if you read the original post you wouldnt be calling me a punk ass kid, and second the 450 was stock and the banshee was modded. "whats wrong with the banshee or are the 450's that fast" thats just a catch phrase to get people to look at the post.

guess what? the 4 stroke was first ran in 1860. thats 148 year old tech for ya dude.

 

1880 is when the 2 stroke was born. so them 450's are 20 year older tech then any banshee ever was. you had it opposite.

 

 

 

 

we are all running "old" tech. want some newer tech? go build a miller cycle hybrid quad with lithium ion batteries and regenerative brakes. at least that would be 60's tech. 40 year old technology isn't too bad. nevermind 1860 or 1880.
