Soooo, now that i look at my quad i HATE the stupid bulky kill and light switch. Ive looked at the dirt bike style switches but i was wondering where else i could mount these stock switches for a cleaner look and sorta a close reach?

I was thinking about mounting it on the upper part of my stem right below the bar clamps for outa the way goodness but still close to reach...any other idears kids?

Since you run lights you pretty much need that switch. But.... you might be able to wire in a WR light switch one side and use a YZ kill on the other.. I've never looked closely to the wiring setup on the WR light switch so I dont know what its gonna take to get it to work. Just something to check into.

I will try to grab you a pict when i get home today, but i have a CR250 kill switch and then got a 2stage toggle from radio shack and wired it to the lights. Drilled a hole in the tank cover and screwed it in there

That is a good Idea.

I too have the Honda kill switch. I just used two togle switches mounted to a pice of strap aluminum. The aluminum strap bolts to the back of the fuel tank like a hid a key.

The togle switches I got have a ruber cover that goes over the switch to keep water out.

ahhh stop being a pussy! lol its a tiny hole and the switch will plug it up, then you screw it down and it looks like thats where its suppposed to be. I drilled mine after having them painted and it didnt hurt a thing.

The wiring is very simple. I am not electrically inclined by any means, and I was able to do it. It's pretty straight forward

if it were me.. I'd check into the WR headlight switch and just wire it for off/high beams. It'd make for a clean look and no cuttin would be needed. I dont think anyone actually uses low beams anyways do they?

just a idea..

Kill button..

Key and headlight switch.. I don't like putting extra holes in plastics or anything either but under the seat I didn't think would be a big deal.. Also helps keep some of the water from gettin to them..

look thru your vents in your plastic on the sides in front of the gas tank, see that hoop your steering stem mounts too? it is the same size as your handlebars, and you can reach thru the vent to operate the switch. dammit. now my secret is out!! your welcome. saves you from buying anything. Just mount that stock switch right in there.

Mine came with my switches. I bought them on ebay and I can find the seller. They look like this. Just do a web search for toggle switch boot. You should just need one that is the same size as the thread on the switch.

I put an xr kill switch on the bars and put 2 of these waterproof kill switches from trailtech in the tank cover like bansheeman did. You could mount them anywhere in a 3/8 hole though. I like where rippen put his. May do that if I go to aftermartket plastics. My tank cover is black and you dont even see these unless you look. Digi cam is broken or i would post pics. check these out they are great. Push on / Push off
