375hp banshees Posted April 19, 2008 Report Posted April 19, 2008 Found out my machienist isn't a wiseco fan (pro-x). other than warming it up, does everybody just go by the clearaces wiseco says or have you guys (w/ experience in strictly drag motors) found something better to go w/ on clearances. Does no2, alky ect...make a difference either? Dave Quote
Bansh-eman Posted April 20, 2008 Report Posted April 20, 2008 all types of riding should be pretty much the same. the metal will expand to the same amount once it hits the temps. so riding drag or mx as long as the temps are met the metal "should" expand the same amount. So the clearances should be the same. better person to ask would be either Firehead or BellicosBanshee ( I'm sure i spelled his name wrong), the both of them are Mechanical Engineers and have a better understanding of it from more then just opinions Quote
375hp banshees Posted April 20, 2008 Author Report Posted April 20, 2008 anybody use the pro-lite electra coated hp pistons? Quote
jbooker82 Posted April 23, 2008 Report Posted April 23, 2008 I havent run the electra coated ones. I have had my pistons coated by Swain Tech. TBC Quote
camatv Posted April 23, 2008 Report Posted April 23, 2008 i had more problems with pro x pistons than any of the wiseco's ive ever had the clearances are there for a reason set them to spec and run them.. my pistons with heavy drag racing usually last about 2 years at least, Quote
