I also brought the CRJ temp gauge, the piece is nice. Mine shuts off randomly tho, it really pissed me off the last time i went riding.

The highest temp i saw was 200 when i came to the top of a hill and stopped without the wind blowing, but when your riding it doesnt get about 170-180 as stated.

IMO, 200-ish is getting hot

the hottest i seen was 220 after draging sevearl times in a row with out a break. i would not shut it off when it gets hot i would drive around low rpm to get air through the radiator it cools down faster that way

I look to shut mine down no higher than 210-215.. I had a buddy that buried the needle on his and I think ours read up around 240 :ermm: .. He didn't hurt anything but I sure as hell wouldn't do that myself..

If I were cruising in 4th gear not crankin I would be running at about 160-175 on an 80 degree day. I run engine ice too. The hottest I've seen was around 200-205 but I can always tell when it's getting hot without always having to look at my temp gauge because it starts runnin sluggish immediately. After that I either shut it down or just cruise around in 3rd gear to cool her down.

Do you have a pic of your new temp gauge? I've always used a meat thermometer but it's not super accurate. I know when I'm getting warm but that's about it. I just like the small clean look of it.

I would shut mine down at 225-230.

Park on top of a hill or dune with the Rad Pointed into the wind is the quickest way I have found to cool my banshee down.
