DallasGDub Posted April 9, 2008 Report Posted April 9, 2008 So yesterday I called in sick and went out to Rocky Ridge to get some riding in. I took my swinger off to do some trails. On a very simple jump warming up on a table top, my foot moved back on the peg a little to far and bent it. Got a hairline fracture in the top of it. feels like a bad sprain. Does not hurt real bad. They said to come back in a week, if it is the same, they will do a mri. I just hope it did not rip anything. Here is a clip of when it happen. You can not really see anything. Quote
jamebo Posted April 9, 2008 Report Posted April 9, 2008 Sorry to hear about your foot getting hurt. Can you move around on it well enough to get by at work without having to explain too many details? Quote
DallasGDub Posted April 9, 2008 Author Report Posted April 9, 2008 Well here's my idea. I am on crutches and have a foot brace on for about a week. I think I will be cool saying it happen the day before and thats why I was not their. I mean I really did not say why I was not going to be at work. So I guess karma worked itself out. Now I have a reason. lol... Quote
jamebo Posted April 9, 2008 Report Posted April 9, 2008 Well I guess that will work out pretty good, having not initially given a reason for being out. Your fortunate in that aspect, when I call in my job grills me about every last detail about why I'm not going to be in! Had that been me I would have been busted for sure! lol Quote
Bill Posted April 9, 2008 Report Posted April 9, 2008 I bent my foot back the same way you did only it broke three bones in the top.Trust me youll know if its broke because you cant even walk.Might not be A bad idea to get the x-rays. Quote
rtcc Posted April 10, 2008 Report Posted April 10, 2008 I got a hairline crack in my foot one time from slipping while running up stairs with now shoes on. You might use it for work...heh Quote

Yeah, I went to the er and got an Xray. Thast how I found it about the crack. When it happened, it was not a big deal. But today, I could not even walk. I gues my riding boots held it all together. The xray shows a hairline crack. no breaks. But does not show anythig else. Only a MRI will show that rips or torn lig's. It was too swolen to get that done. He said if it does not feel better in a few days, come back for the MRI. He told me that 7 out of 10 foot breaks are better than a bad sprain. I would have been better off if it was broken. It heals faster than a sprain. Shitty. I just hope the swelling goes down and it is just a fracture and not a torn lig. Quote
SoCalinIt Posted April 10, 2008 Report Posted April 10, 2008 Bummer man! Hope you get well soon. Quote
Animalman294 Posted April 10, 2008 Report Posted April 10, 2008 That really sucks man, believe me I can relate a couple times over.................. Quote
ClimbAnyHill Posted April 10, 2008 Report Posted April 10, 2008 Riding downtime due to broken Shee is one thing but it really bugs when it's the rider who's broken! I'm currently going thru wrist recovery  Were you wearing boots? Quote

I'm currently going thru wrist recovery  Were you wearing boots? Well thanks to everyone for the thoughts. Yeah I had on new FLY's. Only had one ride on them. If you look at the vid, It was not even a hard landing. Hell I was just warming up. Who's knows what happen. I tis not the first time, but at least last time you could clearly see what went on. I should be back to normal in a week. I really dont think I tore anything. I think the hairline fracture and sprain is all that happened. Bad foot placement. lol..... Get well soon. Well after you said this, I was playing it back in slow motion, and it does. BAD..00:03....frame and all hits the floor. Along with my foot. Maybe I need to adjust my shocks. Maybe a little too soft. Nice catch. Good news is that the swelling went down. So looks like it was just the fracture. Nothing is tore. So should be good as new in a few days. I got my new tires in today, cant wait to get it mounted. Edited April 10, 2008 by DallasGDub Quote
