I am going to buy an "Outback Rack". Comes with it's own 1 gal can. I will just carry an extra bottle of oil in case the 1 gal. isn't enough, I can pull gas out of 1 of the 4 pokes and mix another gallon.

I have one of those, can fit a 2 gal can where the cooler is supposed to go. That helps cause then youve got close to a full tank on the back. Just be careful, I used mine once so far and had the gas cans pop out about five or six times within a hundred miles. Or you stop cause you smell gas and find out that one of the cans are leaking from somewhere and spilling fuel all over the exhaust!!!! Yes, I had them bungeed to the hilt, also. It was a very mild, smooth trail that you'd guess you could drink a cup of coffee down.

Keep an eye out on ebay, thats where I got mine for around 30-40 bucks.

What's wrong with an after-market plastic gas tank with more capacity? Your stock tank is plastic... I have an IMS tank in my Kawi and unless you know what you're looking for, you can't tell I have one more gallon of fuel capacity. Pluse, the billet receiver and cap look freakin' trick! I don't know what they look like for the Banshee, but they must be similar?

Adding weight to the rear can adversely impact handling, and as some have pointed out, it doesn't seem very safe (I hate riding with a friend on his Z400 when he straps on a cooler--it seems as if I have to worry too much about the cooler than enjoy the ride--that thing falls off all the time).

IMS has 4 gallon tank that looks almost stock...and you don't have to cut your plastics...they have them on ebay...

Most of those aftermarket tanks are butt ugly, the only one that I think looks decent is the ims 4 gal.

Ya, a lot of those aftermarket tanks are really ugly tanks, and they fade different colors the longer they are exposed to the sunlight too...........

Animalman, the description of your bike is exactly where I'm going to end up motor wise, I've had big carbs before and its hard to do long rides in glamis.

I hate the way the aftermarket tanks look also. But I hate getting towed back to camp and sand in my face even more. I ended up with the 5.6 gal IMS.
