Meat Posted April 5, 2008 Report Posted April 5, 2008 I dunno, the more I think about it, the more I like the idea of the heel gaurds, especially after reading Blanco25's post  . I like those IMS\Roll heel gaurds, they're nice. Nerf bars can be deadly. MX Pro racer matt bartosek died that way. got his foot tangled in the netting, I think he was jumpin a purty big jump at the time. Boy that would suck  Quote
dalegoldston Posted April 5, 2008 Report Posted April 5, 2008 In a MX race you would see the benefit of nerfs. Get some guy coming in to you and get a tire between yours, its flying time. Quote
HiRoller Posted April 5, 2008 Report Posted April 5, 2008 Mine were getting a little rusty in the cracks so I took them off. Haven't had any probs, I learned my lesson with putting a foot down on 3 wheelers. Quote
350BANSHEE350 Posted April 5, 2008 Author Report Posted April 5, 2008 yeah i used to ride a 3 wheeler with no heel guards, i was only 12, never ran my foot over, im thinking of takin them off and just double peging it when i can, or maybe i could just make some out of sheet metal, maybe make like a small 2 inch platform and weld it onto the pegs and then cut some teeth on another peice and weld them on the back of the plat form Quote

Most, if not all MX tracks require you have nerf bars, all AMA sanctioned races definitly require nerf bars on your mx quad. So if your planning on doing some mx racing.... get sum nerfys. Quote
350BANSHEE350 Posted April 5, 2008 Author Report Posted April 5, 2008 no mxing anywhere near me lol Quote
1FST05BANSHEE Posted April 14, 2008 Report Posted April 14, 2008 I am nagotiating with myself wiether i should take off the old heavy ugly heel guards and just run pegs?, i was feeling it out and if my foot did slip off it cant even touch the ground, i have short legs, and just wanted to know how many people run without them and if they have any problems, i don't jump, maybe the odd 20 footer and lumps cuz i ride trails, when i had me heel guards on i can never recall my foot slipping off before. thanks for your helps guys BTW i used the search botton and couldn't find anything LMAO jk just thought id through that out there WHATS UP MAN, ITS ALL UP TO YOU REALLY, BUT I DONT HAVE ANYTHING BEHIND MY LEG EITHER. I CUT MY REAR FENDERS EVEN WITH THE LINE ON THE CUT OUT FOR THE KICK START. I HAVE MY PEG, AND JUST THE LITTLE METAL FOOT BUCKET, AND KNERF BARS. AND IVE BEEN COOL SO FAR. OR SHOULD I SAY " LUCKY" SO FAR Quote
blk02banshee Posted April 14, 2008 Report Posted April 14, 2008 I've gotten used to riding without them. I had to take them off, because I changed my pegs and put nerfs on, but at first, I kept getting my foot caught down behind the peg. I used to rely on the heel guards, and kind of used them as part of the peg, so when I got rid of them, it was noticable. Now that I've gotten used to riding without them, I don't even notice that they're not there, and I don't have any problems with my feet getting between the peg and tire, either. Quote
Male Supremacy Posted April 14, 2008 Report Posted April 14, 2008 I don't usually ride with them on... Quote
