yamaha_daniel Posted March 10, 2008 Report Posted March 10, 2008 (edited) just like the title says what method do you use to polish your exhaust system (header/silencer)-dan post some pic's to show us what they look like Edited March 10, 2008 by yamaha_daniel Quote
theshee Posted March 10, 2008 Report Posted March 10, 2008 I polish the silencers with my buffing machines, and just semi-chrome the head pipes. Quote
[email protected] Posted March 10, 2008 Report Posted March 10, 2008 theshee works best... just ship him ure stuff and give him his time. BLING BLING as u can see above. Quote
Dinner Posted March 10, 2008 Report Posted March 10, 2008 What type of machine do you use Kiel? You don't have to tell me what exactly it is if you don't want to give away your secrets. But Like I've thought about polishing my silencers (304 Pro Circuits), can it be done with fine sand paper, a buff ball and some Mothers or something along those lines? Quote
KaosBanshee44 Posted March 10, 2008 Report Posted March 10, 2008 Kiel (theshee) does everything for me from polishing to paint. He's the bomb.com Quote

theshee Posted March 10, 2008 Report Posted March 10, 2008 Dinner- I use a 2.5 HP 3400 RPM machine for most of the stuff like that. You can use sand paper like you are saying, but you wont quite get the results of the CPIs i posted. Those went through the whole 9 yards of polishing. However, if you do it like you are saying they will look pretty good. Quote

Oh right on, I didn't think I would get them looking as good as yours, but anything is better than what they look like now  Do you recommend a certain fine of sand paper? Like 2000 Wet or something? Quote
okbeast Posted March 10, 2008 Report Posted March 10, 2008 Dinner: Try some 000 or 0000 steel wool, and some billet polish. Works wonders if you're doing something by hand. Quote
Hulio-mv Posted March 20, 2008 Report Posted March 20, 2008 I used inox and a air buffer on my pcs not a great job but better than they were Quote
98'banshee Posted March 25, 2008 Report Posted March 25, 2008 I got black lead pipes so i just polish the silecers, bumpers, and rims with an old wool sock and some mothers (and the powerball for the rims) then wipe the black residue off with a towel. Quote
