i figured it out it was a combo of the adjuster being way out to lunch and the plate on the end wasnt sitting right

Ok guys here is my issue. I am putting my shee back together after repainting the frame and going through the engine to port and freshen it up. I am not too fimiliar with how the clutch goes back together and forgot how it came apart. I have it back together without the engine cover on it and I put it in gear and the clutch doesnt lock instead the outer cover just turns and the adjuster nut wont unthread from the screw. Any Help Would Be Appreciated Thanks.

I found what looks like a ball bearing on the floor of my shop next to my ripped apart engine it looks about the size of a 9mm slug maybe a little bit bigger. would anyone know where it would have come out of?

spray paint and spray clear coat.

not trying to be an ass her but...... what would be the point of pimping out your shee when it looks like from your avatar that it hasnt been clean since the day you bought it. Instead of dorking it out w/ rims y dont u invest in some metal polish, sponges, and a pressure washer?

LOL, I just went out and bought the exact same duplicolor metalic paint sat. and put the first coat on. I plan on shaving my front fenders back further than yours but they will damn near be twins with the 98' plastics. Ill post pics next weekend if I get the chance.

Buy a leakdown tester. they are universal to 2 strokes and 4 strokes. a leakdown test is seeing how much pressure your piston rings hold before there is to much pressure and blowby.

My MXR4's only have the logo on 1 side, if the ones u get are on both get some Goof-Off and rub it on and it will remove the Holshot logo.

Hey, If you want to get rid of that Stock airbox assembly, filter and or swingarm let me know, Im looking for one cuz im not sure about trusting my pod going through mud and water.

Ive Ran mine out of gas a couple times once at 1/4 throttle and again at the top of 4th gear at 9000 rpm. I had no issues as long as you pull in the clutch and let the engine slow it self down with compression but I could bet that an idiot that doesnt pull the clutch in would spin the engine for a while could hurt it

I know what the differences are my dad and I run a side business out of our shop and deal with both frequently :geek: . I just wanted to know for sure what the shee has for pricing out how much this whole rebuild is gonna cost. Nikasil doesnt "flow" if it did you could only imagine what piston rings would do to it. :ermm:

I was just wondering Is the banshee a sleeve motor or a nikasil motor? (guessing sleeve but not sure) I plan on starting my rebuild soon and was thinking about boring it out a little bit. :biggrin:

I got black lead pipes so i just polish the silecers, bumpers, and rims with an old wool sock and some mothers (and the powerball for the rims) then wipe the black residue off with a towel.

I cant wait untill this summer the shee build will be done and the ass kiking starts. Ima gon put er up to 150lbs of compression port it, do some case porting, throw the pro-cool radiator on it, and a +4 swing arm. cant wait till I get to squash my buddy's YFZ with the R6 engine in it, hes all talk right now and he wont let it go. :biggrin:

I ride with a bunch of guys that have Utility ATVs........ So I get Guff all the time, When the new can-am Renegade came out one of the guys bought it and wanted to race on dirt (renegade is 4x4 optional) so all week I had to listen to "even if you do beat me Ima gonna kik ur ass off the line" ect....... Untill D-Day we went from a roll a Dig on asphalt, dirt, and grass. Kiked his ass on asphalt, did a second gear launch on dirt and grass not once did he come out in head of me, but after that is when the fun starts. we came back to the trailer and I went and looked at the back of his bike and said "just wanted to know what the back looks like because I dont ever plan on seeing it other than in the trailer.

The absolute 1st mod anyone should tell you to do is pipes. I recomend toomeys, T-6's if you dont port it and T-5's if you do or arn't sure if you will in the future. With 155lbs of compression you may want to look into some Engine Ice instead of Antifreeze and maybe replace the stock impeller with an aluminum one. I personally HATE my Pod filter because you may run into some wet spots on the trail and would much rather have the airbox with the top removed. Welcome to BHQ and eventually to the banshee owner club where you never will have enough money to fill the bottomless pit of mods. :biggrin: You should be close to your buddy stock and it will take just pipes to kill him, if you start pulling some good power I also recomend going up a tooth on your front sprocket, and remember to lean forward when you launch hard cuz as soon as you hook in the power band you will be sorry if you dont.

Ok, Heres what I came up with. I will shave the fenders, but I cant decide what color for the frame, A-arms, Handlebars, and swingarm will be. It is a 98' with the blue/white graphics but the rear fender graphics removed. The color Options I will be chosing from are Electric Blue, Gloss Black, or Yellow.

Ok I was thinking of shaving the plastics but not sure yet, and will base what I do off of this poll. Also has anyone painted there frame yellow? and how hard is it to keep clean? I plan on pulling it completely apart and making everything clean and working like its supposed to. I want to paint the frame and front suspension arms yellow because the paint is lookin old and needs to be freshend up so I was thinkin a blue/white/yellow combo. Input much appriciated.

You will have to wait I have to get the Dyno sheets from a friend, And It was proven on a snowmobile engine. Im just sick of everyone trying to be the first to jump on info but nobody is willing to try it, And for those who replied who havent tried it trying to cut me down are idiots. How can you cut down info if you cant say that you have tried it. dajogejr why don't you just go spend the $4 and get 2 plugs and try it since nobody else is smart enough to but try it? but do it on a trail bike and reply your thoughts just 1 F*%#ing person just go try it.

Ok, Since you brought up the fact that you KNOW that plugs don't give you power. When is the last time you had your engine on the dyno and put different sets of plugs on?????? Untill then shut your mouth.
