Went riding yesterday. My buddy who rides a 450r shifts without using his clutch, once he gets going anyway. So by the afternoon, I was trying it out. BUT, I want to know if it's going to fuck stuff up. If I am going to hurt the trans gears by doing it? Ect.

But man you can fly through the gears not using the clutch! And kick some 450r butt.

aslong as you don't have a load on the engine( IE on the throttle, or engine braking) you won't hurt anything, i can shift just as fast with using the clutch as without... however i did ride my warrior for 6 hours without the clutch because my cable had broken

Yep, I always let off the throttle before I would shift, I can bang through the gears so much faster not using the clutch.

If it was me I WOULD USE THE CLUTCH simply for the fact that why would they put a clutch on the quad if it wasnt supposed to have it an wasnt meant to be used, I can actually shift faster with the clutch, not saying it cant be done that way but better safe than sorry, it could possibly mess up the shift forks an maybe the shift drum an could burn up the clutch, but idk im just sayin.

If you power shift(i.e. holding it WOT and slipping the clutch to shift) you will go faster rather than letting off the gas to shift.

I clutch to shift because i dont want to risk bending a fork.

^ what he said

you should always use the clutch it releaves most pressure but you can hold throttle wide open and shift using the clutch it works great , just dont recommend it on paved roads lol
