yo i just bought a 1999 banshee.i was seeking advice.Me and my buddy looked ast the reeds into the cylinder hole thatattaches to the carb and saw 1 scratch on each piston almost in the same spot.HE told me to park it and take the cylinders in right away as the scratch isnt bad but hes had 4 engines blow on him eqnoring scrapes. So thats problem #1what should i do, get it honed and new pistons to fit it, or if its real bad which i think it isnt as its almost like a peice of sand on both sides did it.(the airboxwas filthy, dirt past the filter). So we put it all back together, and looked at the carbs and my buddy says its the stock jets inside, the smallest size.I have DG headers and stock rear pipes.so hes telling me somethin is way off,and untill i get the pistons changed and honed or bored cylinders he cant do the spark plug test. But hes sure something is way off, it wont idle, and the one cylinder backfires. Its impossible to start without putting gas into the airbox to get it into the carbs.oh ya,the throttle over ride system ontop of the carb is physically there, barely, but the computer is cut out.they are all wobbly and non secure, which cause one carb to open more then the other,so i was gunna get them takin out and the throttle cable that gos straight to the carb and drill out a hole for an idol screw.other then all that bull, can i get some advice.i know its a jetting forum, but i do need help pickin what stage jets to get, there so small in it and my buddy says it shouldnt be.we are not geniuses, but were not stupid,help.....oh ya the air filter is an UNI,filthy dirty,so i have to clean it bbefore jetting right?????please explain everything i talked about to me like a 12 year old and tell me if my buddy is pointing me in the right direction

Yeah, I too would definately do a compression test before jumping to conclusions. Sears sells them for under 50 bucks, and that could save you a bunch of cash that you could be spending on mods. I would forget about the cub cylinders for now and get the other parts to make your shee rip. Once you finally max your stock cylinders bore size out and cant go anymore, then look into them.

pistons get scratched a bit. A picture would speak 1000 words. Also, I don't understand how you have DG headers and stock pipes? do you mean DG pipes and stock silencers?
