Hi, I have a problem, I lost my 6th speed while I was riding in the snow... I still have the 1 to 5 speed but the 4th make some weird noises... Can someone tell me what's the problem and tell me how to fix it? Thank you

can someone help me?

You have undoubtedly damaged the trans and you will need to removed the engine and tear it down. You may either pull the topend apart during the R&R or carefully remove only the bottom case and allow the topend to stay intact. Either way, you will need to open it up. I wish I could give better news but this sounds like a classic gear, shift fork problem possibly from forcing shifts a bit too hard. I recommend getting a Clymer manual and read up. The longer you use the bike, the more costly it may be from increased damage toll. Good luck.

Ok I splited my case and I think I can see the problem:

I suppose it was time to open my engine anyway look at my right piston... Maybe because I don't let him warm enough at low temperature?? Dont know why this piston is like that... it was still stock bore for now 8 years... going to oversize...

Some one know where this rod goes? It came off the engine when I turned this one while washing and don't know at all where it goes:

nice! I had a similar transmission problem earlier this winter, sure sucks! piston looks like shit too!

The rod goes inside off the front transmission shaft, its your clutch release rod. there should be a metal ball that came from the same place as well.

yup, thats your problem, and the piston is from what you said, cold seizure, oh well 8 years i wouldnt complain

good to see you found the problem. doesnt look too bad. only a couple gears from what i can see.

that piston looks like its from running it cold too. when theres snow around here, it takes at least 5 minutes of idleing before mine gets warm enough for me to feel comfortable riding at all, and until the head feels almost hot before i hammer on it. thats just me, and i dont have a temp guage, so my hand becomes my guage, so its not exactly a science, but ive been teaching my frieds not to run these things cold.
