Street bike motors in a banshee

I did a quick search but didn't see anything really. For what it costs to build up the Banshee's motor, why don't more people just swap in a 600-1300cc bike or busa motor??

Are their powerbands that much different where they aren't any good for trail riding or what?

I think it's gay! Not a true banshee to me plus the sound is better with a banshee motor.

The Banshee engine is just a de-tuned streetbike engine from the early 80's. That's what made the banshee the crazy machine that it is.

well me, my bro,and my dad are finishing up our swap of a zx900R motor in a banshee and its a lot of work,kinda heavy but goin to be fun ahha

So pretty much just a fast straight shooting machine. The swap wouldn't be a problem for me since I have the skills and tools, just was curious what others thought. I guess it probably wouldn't be that great for much trail riding or dunes then. I just liked the idea of lots of HP with little $$.

And yup, it's definately no longer a banshee

i have a raptor with a 600rr engine in it. its an awesome dune bike. plenty of power for play racing and hittin the dunes. plus it sounds sweet in the sand.

It would be fun for crusing or duning and like Loco said play racing, but it would not fair well at drag racing against heavily modded drag banshees.We have a tl 1000 motor on nos, on a chrome moly drag frame and still have trouble with the heavily built drag banshees.The motors are soooo heavy.Currently we are putting a streetbike motor in a blaster frame it shoud make a fun play bike...
