Well i have the a K&N clamp on and i have never had it fall off. Just makes sure you dont get too much oil on the surface that clamps down otherwise i supose it could come off due to lubrication. but i can't imagine if you tighten it well and dont get it all oiled up you will have this problem again. Justintoxicated Posted January 31, 2008 Report Posted January 31, 2008 (edited) Sounds like your hose clamps are not seating on the correct part of the carb or filter. or you have the wrong size pods. Edited January 31, 2008 by Justintoxicated Quote
RUDEDAWG Posted January 31, 2008 Report Posted January 31, 2008 Had the same problem as you I just ditched the clamps that came with the k&ns and used the stock clamps because they are narrower and clamp down on the right part of the carbs, just make sure there is no oil residue on the inside of the filters where they clamp on and no residue on the outside of the carb. akita8 Posted January 31, 2008 Report Posted January 31, 2008 I whipe the carbs and the filter area that clamps to the carb with alchohol to get off all the oil and they stay on great. Quote
rubberneck Posted January 31, 2008 Report Posted January 31, 2008 Get the clamp area of the filter and the carb clean, then put some hairspray on them. Spray a bunch of hairspray in a small glass, and use your finger to wipe some of it on the clamp area inside the filter. It will help to glue them on. We do this with intercooler boots when running high boost on my cummins. It will make it more of a challenge to get them off however. Quote
spike Posted January 31, 2008 Report Posted January 31, 2008 ^^^ I do the same thing but with Carb cleaner or brake cleaner, works great and its a little more common in a garage  ... I have to fight with mine to get them off. And dont overtight them its more bad than good. tends to kinda squize them off Quote
Screaming Yellow Zonker Posted February 1, 2008 Report Posted February 1, 2008 handle grip glue  Quote
