gentner8 Posted January 30, 2008 Report Posted January 30, 2008 (edited) Im sure everyone is going to shout head, but I had to ask. Since I dont know the go to parts list, if I buy a head, what brand and what size domes for hi grade pump gas? I ride woods and trails with an few races here or there. How much performance can I look to get? Current setup is unported jugs 28MM PWK's with pods V force 3's Pro Circuit pipes and silencers. Im more into go than show, but I dont want to assume that all heads are the same. Do aftermarkets keep the bike running cooler? I DO NOT WANT TO CHANGE STUDS! yamaha04 Posted January 30, 2008 Report Posted January 30, 2008 get a noss head they are kick ass. and he sposers the site. they use the same domes as pro design heads aswell as the same o rings but dont requier longer head studs you can use your stock one. pm DL NOSS on here or go to his website and pick out what you want. if you want to run a premium pump gas go with the 21cc domes. http://www.nossmachine.com/banshee_heads.htm Quote

jbooker82 Posted January 30, 2008 Report Posted January 30, 2008 Get the noss head and a 35 dollar adjustable stator plate to advance the ignition timing.. Quote
gentner8 Posted January 30, 2008 Author Report Posted January 30, 2008 will i have to make jetting changes with increased compression? I have seen somebody on here that is running 19cc domes on pump gas. at what point does the reliability come into play? Quote
yamaha04 Posted January 30, 2008 Report Posted January 30, 2008 if your crank is good and its welded then your good to go up to say 180 psi could be more i have no idea. but if you want to run pump gas and have no porting stay with a 21cc dome. the guy that is running the 19cc could be ported that will lower compression abit. he could be at a higher elevation. that will lower it. there are many factors he could even have a lose motor. its not the dame size you need to look at its your elevation above see level and compression. if your running pump 93 octane 145/150 would be safe so figure out your elevation then go to that site nossmachine and go to banshee heads then look for your elevation and shoot for 150psi and it should match you up with your correct dome size. also as said in the above post spend 30 or 40$ and get an adjustable timing plate set to to +4/+5 and you may notice another low end gain along with the higher compression Quote
